It’s one thing to accept that your team may have to suck to eventually get better and another to hope for it.

 

There actually is a general consensus. I think most rational fans have a standard idea of how a fan should support their favorite team.

 

Tanking simply sets a poor team culture and damages players' careers.

That is one year, not five, and the goal is the long-term improvement of the team. He wanted them to lose just out of spite for Mike Tomlin.
