New Steelers record under Tomlin

Fair enough. It is hard, I agree with that. I just don't like what I've seen. Stats, wins, losses, etc. can only tell you so much. You have to watch the games and judge for yourself. How I would describe this team over the years is one that seems to be lacking football IQ. We just seem to make so many dumb plays. There's also no shortage of stupidity from the sideline, such as horrible use of timeouts and challenges.

There's no sense in getting into naming coaches who are better. I'll just say that I think Tomlin is a big part of the reason we haven't had any playoff success in a long time and unfortunately I don't expect that to change. It seems no matter how much talent we have on this team, we find ways to lose games.

 

I'm fine with that. I don't agree, but that doesn't make Your opinions any less valid. Also.....the last game I didn't watch was sometime in 1996 because of where I moved...So....I got NFL Sunday Ticket in 1997, and have not missed a game since.

 

No no, wasn't implying you don't watch the games. Was just saying that stats only tell so much. Sometimes you lose a game you probably should have won, and sometimes you win a game you had no business winning. The stats sheets can't indicate which is which, and in the short term they don't matter, but they can indicate long term habits/issues.

In all honesty, I hope I'm wrong. I want this team to have deep playoff runs and it's going to have to be with Tomlin because I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon.

 

Blake Bortles beat us in a Playoff Game in Pittsburgh....and TOMLIN still has a job. that is all you need to know about Rooney....

 

Stan Humphries beat us in an AFCCG and Cowher still had a job.......

 

We need at least ten stickys on the Steelers talk forum. When somebody brings up a beaten mule topic it automatically goes to the appropriate sticky.

 

The bottom line is the 'STEELER WAY" isnt what it used to be because we are so mesmerized by the '.....never had a losing season ..." bs, this team has under performed for over a decade and its right there in black and white. Yet somehow we are still singing the praises of the cliche' king because why ???? We used to dominate on defense, intimidate even, I know the rules changed and the NFL is not what it was when men were men and little boys were scared. The truth of the matter is this, if we accept mediocrity, which is what we have now, we have no right to complain. But if we dont accept it, fill this board up with FMTI threads and demand better!!! I dont care who the coach is, I dont want 8-8 and 1 and dones, I want Super Bowl wins and dominance.....PERIOD!!

 

The team made it to the AFCCG in 2016, all that nitpicking over who and how they won in the playoffs is nonsense, some fans act like the Steelers are the only team to win a playoff game because of some calls went their way .

 

Tomlin was clowned in that afc champ game by belicheat and I knew we would never make a super bowl again when we had all that offense talent and looked like a jv high school team against patriot. I was out on my right then

 

And as far as cowher is concerned. He made the afc champ game with the following QBs. Neil O’Donnell, Korell Stewart. Not exactly hall of famer my had given to him and an elite d.

So which Steeler coach is better. Cowher who went to afc champ game a ton of times and loses a bunch but has one super bowl win and loss or Mike tomlin who was gifted his super bowl with cowherd d and qb and now never has a losing season but is a joke in playoffs

OK, you've said it. Many, many times. You complain that people say the same things about a subject over and over again, yet you and others do it as well about what they are doing. If someone wants to post an opinion that been beaten to death a few thousand times, then move on and let them enjoy making their statement. I, like you, don't really like when a subject is brought up again and again, but I try not to concern myself about it. This is a message board and should be free for people to express whatever the hell they want (withing the rules). If someone wants to post something, but doesn't for fear of being criticized, then this is no longer a place to exchange thoughts and ideas. JMO>
