I may be the only Steelers fan that feels this way. But, is anyone else worried about Troy having a negative affect on our D?
Ever since Mundy was pulled for Allen our D has really been light's out! Now, i know Allen is nowhere near the player Troy is. Allen does play the run well and in coverage he seem to be doing what he's supposed to be doing and not always out of place like Mundy....With that being said i could see us getting away from plain old SOLID defense and having a few of those plays where Troy is being Troy and is a step or 2 behind and bang 40yrd TD...Troy can make the plays Allen cannot but he also opens us up to big plays.....I dunno just a thought

I'm worried that he has to get a game under his belt to shake the rust off, just like James Harrison did his first 4 games of the season.

This isn't the game to shake the rust off...they are must win from here on out...hopefully he can step right in and not miss a beat.

I thought this would be a thread saying "maybe Troy should sit one more week" .... I keep seeing that around here

I think we are going to see a more reserved troy with Timmons free roaming. Lebeau has been talking about that for like two years now I think we finally see it.

If Troy is playing, I'm assuming it's because he is healthy, a healthy Troy will only help us. People are calling for more TO's and Troy makes that happen and just being on the field gives the QB an additional factor to be concerned with. The more distractions the better.

I think that would work....Troy is still gonna come up and make his plays at the line..He's soooo damn athletic if he could just float around and get us some INT's cause we know unlike all our other DB Troy CAN catch!

Not so sure any of us will see Troy play again. I have said it many times. Troy is a China Doll (the last few years). Getting so he wipes his butt and he can't walk.

DO you think we could all sign a petition of sorts lobbying Troy to go train with IKE and AB in FLA for just 1 offseason....I'll beT that Following season Troy would be better than we ever saw him.. just a thought

i trust Lebeau and Troy to do the right thing for the team. They are both too talented to do otherwise.

As good as the defense has been with Will Allen it will only be better with Troy. If he's healthy he plays. This is one of the best to ever play the game and some want him to sit and some around here think he's done. Give me a break!

I just think Troy's big play ability comes with the risk of the big play going against us. Especially with him being out so long...Hopefully he stays healthy
and our D makes more plays!

This goes along with what I was saying about our defense all year. People are complaining about lack of turnovers, and I have said that agressively trying for turnovers often can lead to a big play the other way. It is a risk for the reward thing and I am happy with our defense simply holding other teams from scoring.

In this game it's worth the risk. Without Ben, I am not sure how we win the game without forcing at least a few turnovers.

As long as Troy is healthy he should play. I think that there is a possibility that he may be overlooked since he is just coming back, but he could turn out to be the X factor in this game.

Exactly! If Troy is just places himself in the positions Allen has been in lately we will end up with turnovers..He's a bit quicker and DEFINITELY has the best hand in the secondary! Almost like what Ed Reed does. Only better!

Troy tends to play very well against the Ravens, making the splash plays to clinch games that others in this defense just can't seem to make consistently. As good as this defense has played of late, they are sorely lacking turnovers late in games (like the LT int against KC) to set the offense up on a short field, or clinch the game. I'm looking forward to seeing him out on the field, however I'm hesitant due to his lingering injury. Another exit after the first quarter likely means the end of his season.

This is EXACTLY what I said in another post. He may not be the stud of our Defense but there is NO WAY Flacco can be out on the field and not have to account for Troy's whereabouts.

Doesn't necessarily mean you need to be more aggressive, look how many more TO's we would have if our guys could just catch the ball, Troy can catch.

If Troy plays this game I think we'll see him hopping off the field in the 1st quarter

This is just a thought: Is it possible that Troy's been sitting because the organization is letting him get 100% healed. I don't think he's been 100% for a few seasons, now. Maybe they just decided that he should sit until he is not only game-ready, but 100% healed and healthy.

If this is the case, then the defense will be a suffocating force of ball stoppage.

Troy has obviously been an amazing player, but after a couple of years of what seem like non-stop injuries, I'm just afraid that no matter how "healty" he gets, after another game or two he'll be hurt again and be right back out. His superman/diving play style has been incredible but I think it's also the very thing that has put him into the shape he's been in.
