In case everyone hasn't heard Larry Hagman died. He was an awesome actor and probably my favorite TV character of all time. There will never be another "ole J.R."!

R.I.P. Mr. Hagman. I never saw a second of Dallas, but I liked him on I Dream Of Jeanie growing up.

Man Dallas is one of the greatest shows of all time. Me and my wife still watch it and we watch the new one too. I remember growing up that my mom would call my aunt as soon as Dallas and Knots Landing were over to talk all about what happened. lol.

Knots Landing was actually a spinoff of Dallas. Gary Ewing was actually the black sheep of the Ewing family and left Dallas to go to California and live in Knots Landing. He was a drunk and J.R. basically drove him away so he would have less threats at Ewing Oil. Larry Hagman would sometimes make guest appearances on Knots Landing. He would basically show up to remind them of how rich he was and how poor they were. LOL. He was just the most awesome villian ever I think. His ashes are actually going to be spread on the Southfork Ranch. The new Dallas on TNT is actually good and we watched every ep of the 1st season but now that he's dead I think the show will die. Without him Dallas aint Dallas.

Yep! All coming back to me now. I don't watch the new Dallas, how much was Hagman on it? Main part or just some episodes?

He was really good on it. He was in most of the episodes but there was a part of the story where he "went away" to sorta test how his son John Ross would do in taking control of Southfork in his absence. Then he came back when his son was almost killed over a dirty deal. The real reason I think they wrote that in to the storyline is because he was sick in real life and just not able to meet the demands of filming all the time. The only ones of the original that are still left on the TNT revamp are Patrick Duffy(Bobby Ewing) and Linda Gray( Sue Ellen) and Ken Kercheval (Cliff Barnes). Charlene Tilton (Lucy) has been in a couple of episodes but the show is still framed around the family feud between the Barnes and the Ewings. I think now that Larry Hagman is gone it just won't be as fun to watch. The guy that plays his son is the main guy from Deadwood. His name is Josh Henderson I think. He makes a good bad guy but nobody could ever replace J.R. as the main bad guy ya know?

CLiff Barnes hahahahah, forgot all about him, JR's personal whipping boy. I'll have to check out some of the episodes, will be really weird seeing all those characters again. Is Sue Ellen still effed up?

No they made Sue Ellen all "together" and stuff and that's one of the things that I thought was lame about it. But I was hoping that in season 2 she would get back close to J.R. and he would destroy her all over again. LOL. There's nothing that's as fun to watch as when he just lowers the boom on Sue Ellen and Cliff. He's had Sue Ellen in a nut house and Cliff tried to commit suicide and it was great. In the new Dallas though Cliff has actually acquired his own fortune so he would've been able to fight back a little bit. Sue Ellen was actually gonna be the Governor of TX but she had to break a campaign pledge to help her son and she was trying to be all straight laced and as little like J.R. as possible so she decided to end her campaign. You should definitely check it out though. The second season starts Jan 28 I think it is. The thing I'm most interested in is to see what they do about his death. I heard they had already filmed 6 episodes with Larry Hagman so I really don't know how they are gonna do it. I honestly think the best honor they could give the character would be for all the people in Dallas to be really glad that he's dead and come out of the woodwork to celebrate. I think Larry Hagman would've gotten a huge kick out of that. It would just be kinda weird to see people mourning his death after he has screwed more people than you could count for all these years ya know?
