I'm really starting to wonder if you're watching the same game. Did you miss the defenders ALSO having their hands on the ball and knocking it away? This idea that if the ball hits your hands you have to catch it is just foolish, I hear the same thing in baseball, if the ball hits your glove you gotta catch it. Thats not how the game works!
