Tomlin never plays Pickett this year. Which results in a top 5 pick and Tomlin gets fired. Win win

I am not against a top five pick to be honest but Tomlin isn't going anywhere.

Maybe so, but there is no guarantee who we pick in top 5 will be a guaranteed success as there have been some questionable 1st round picks made over the past several years, i.e. Bush, Edmonds, Harris?, etc. I mention Harris only because I am one of those who thought building the foundation of an offense to be a priority over an accessory. What is the percentage of 1st round picks that have been what we thought they should be during the Tomlin era? I don't know myself but its feels like 50% give or take. Again, doesn't matter as we seem to be stuck in neutral and what we see right now is what I think we'll see until leadership change is made. JMO>

Tomlin will never get fired, he will leave when he wants to. The Steelers haven't fired a coach since Bill Austin at the end of the 1968 season.

Top 5 pick is a lot different than picking around 15-20. I don’t have statistics but I would be surprised to see many top 5 bust picks over the years. Not including QB’s since it is a very hard position to evaluate plus teams make huge reaches to take them that high.

Tomlin isn't getting fired after this season. The Steelers could go 1-16 and he will still be coaching this team next season if he wants to.

He already has 2 built in excuses. His future HOF QB retired and his arguably best defensive player in the league got hurt.

Everybody but quite a few of us diehard fans are looking at this Steelers organization as being in a rebuild year.

Still I would like to see what Kenny Pickett can do sooner rather than later. We need to find that out especially if we have a top 5 pick possibility.

Tomlin is stubborn but he's not stupid when it comes to the business side of the NFL.

I have nothing to back this up but I still feel this team will gel to a point where we play better ball the second half of season. All these years of losing to teams we should have beat will give us a turn and we will shock those Vegas bookies.

To get a top 5 pick how many loses will it take????? A lot depends on how the other 31 teams fair. Forget about teams that trade this and that for future draft picks for the moment. Steelers will not be a playoff team so 14 teams are below us in the draft. That leaves #1 thru 18 available. I still feel we will do better then some are thinking right now. IMO I'm thinking we will pick in 2023 around the 9-10 spot.????????????????????????????????????????????????

Drafting between 6 and 20 will completely suck. We often choke on some of those picks. The Bengals are relevant once again cause they continually year after year drafted in the top 5. They really could be very good for years to come because of those top 5 picks. I don't want to go down the same road to get there but I would much rather have a terrible season and draft top 5 than to just miss the playoffs and draft 17-22.

    Tomlin is a media Darling...

Tomlin will drag his feet on Mitch starting until Rooney makes him switch to Kenny, and then Tomlin will receive all the praise from the media for making the change.

They'd only fire Tomlin if he loses the locker room, and there is zero chance in hell that is happening. His plot armor is thick. However, Canada is getting pretty close to losing the faith of the locker room and it wouldn't surprise me if he gets canned if we cant find a way to put point up on the board. The players haven't lost faith in Trubisky yet (some of the WR's are getting close), but they are getting frustrated with Canada.

Tomlin will let the players decide.

Exactly. Idk if we get that low, but being even in the top 10 next year could be a bonanza if the cards were played correctly. With so many possible Qbs many teams will be seeking a trade partner. trading down could get some really quality draft capitol, or a stud in a highly needed area. That said it's also development and scheme. When you look at how the current NFL I just wonder if we have the mindset to move in that direction. Both out O and D seem dated and stale.
