The scoring is way down in the NFL so far this year

Overall, the teams are scoring 21 points per game, which is the lowest since 2006. The Steelers with 18 points per game are not even in the bottom 10 right now!

Of course they are 31st in yards and can't move the ball but for the NFL, what explains the slow starts by the offense?

Is it just a fluke or will it continue since usually offenses often have fast starts but that's not the case so far

Less off-season & preseason reps makes it easier for defenses to stop rusty offenses. I imagine by week 6 offenses will find their groove and average points per team will increase.

They changed the rules awhile back because NFL fans love them TD's and the excitement that goes along with it. I'll take hard nose D any day but I was raised on the 70 Steelers.
