3rd and 5: Incomplete pass to Muth (Defender got hand in at last minute)
4th and 5: Penalty 12 men on field Browns

    6
    Completed:
4 for 59 yards (Pickens tried to one hand grab an easily catchable ball)
    Rushing Yards: 0 yards

    TOTAL STATS:

    Pass Attempts: 16
    Completed: 12
    Yards: 102 yards

    (55 yard of dropped balls)
(30 yards called back for penalty)
(TD incomplete because Pickens tried to One hand a catchable ball)

So many people can place blame on Trubisky all they want. they can blame Canada all they want, or even Tomlin for that matter. We had chances and opportunities to win this game, But when you have drops during key situations or plays called back because of penalties, what else can you do...ALL players have to EXECUTE.

4th and 5 can be anywhere inside of the 3 feet that constitute a yard...could have been 4th and 5 yards 1 1/2 feet They round the numbers.

I agree with most of this, but that wasn’t really a drop by Claypool. That was a throw into double coverage and the underneath defender got his hands in the way to break it up before Claypool could grab it.

Yeah they were moving their first series after the half but after the penalty the wheels completely fell off on both sides of the ball. Coaching and execution and the Browns were better at both unfortunately.

Yeah if the Patriots plant doesn’t fumble and DJ doesn’t drop that ball last night. MAYBE we win.

Point is we have enough offensive weapons. O-line is holding their own. We shouldn’t be struggling to put up points. Defense is playing well enough all things considered. They’re just on the field all game because we can’t put drives together and convert on 3rd down.

It shouldn’t come down to one play. I keep thinking about that play in pre season where Pickett threw a dart over the middle. That’s what we need. Mitch isn’t seeing the field. Watch the all 22. There’s people open.

Trubisky threw some darts last night, including the one Johnson dropped. That was far from the only play in the second half on which someone other than Trubisky ruined the play.

He’s not good enough and inspiring nobody on that team. Simple as that.

Also the pass 2 Pickens in the end zone was not a easy catch at all... He went one hand because two couldn't have reached it...that was clearly on Trubisky.

But that’s just the thing, how many times did we see Ben make a great play after a receiver dropped a pass. The fact is dropped passes and mistakes are going to occur over the course of a football game. The better quarterbacks have a way of overcoming these mistakes, shaking it off and making plays that win games. With Trubisky, it’s like there’s no room for error. The team has to capitalize on every opportunity because they are so few and far between with Mitch.

The point is that people keep trying to heap the blame for the three-and-outs on Trubisky even though his teammates gave him no shot on two of them. It wasn't just one drop or one mistake. It was a series of them. There was room for error, but so many of them.

Agreed. The Steelers were bad Thursday night. Highsmith and a few others were exceptions, but they were clearly the inferior team. My only point was that blaming it all on Trubisky is foolish and inaccurate.

The second half we basically came out with our cap already off in preparation to tip it to Cleveland.
