It’s time to change the narrative about the OL

There has been significant improvement across the board with those guys. Daniels hasn’t given up a pressure/hit/sack. Chuks has been lights out. Statistically they’ve given up 4 sacks through 2 games. However, the sack in Cinci is solely on trubisky as he ran out of bounds behind the line.

There were three sacks against the pats. On one trubisky ran out of bounds behind the line. On another he tried to, but managed to screw that up. On the third Najee got destroyed. The current narrative by some is just lazy and doesn’t align with what’s actually transpiring on the field. There is definitely room for improvement particularly with run blocking, but these guys are getting better each and every week.

It's not like Trubisky ran out of bounds behind the line when nobody was near him. He was running away from pressure both times.

I know Harris has missed some opportunities, but the run blocking has still been inconsistent. Moore is still taking penalties and allowing pressure. Yes, the line is better than expected and improving, but it's not great. I do agree that Trubisky and Harris have to start trusting the line more. Canada, too.

Let's see how they do vs. Browns front 7 before we crown them.

trubisky is allowed to throw the ball away. There’s absolutely no excuse to run out of bounds with the ball behind the los. I think Moore gave up two penalties in the first game and none in the second. The back to back penalties against the bengals definitely sucked though.

Not crowning them anything. Just saying they’re better and improving than the torch and pitchfork crowd let on.

there is no 'significant improvement' until we run for 100 yards (remember what that was like?) for a couple of games.

until then, we suck on O.

we may get ABSOLUTELY BLISTERED tonight. Good Luck OLINE.

If they come unprepared tonight, 5 sacks isn’t unbelievable.

Garrett is playing through a sore neck and Clowney is out, so they should be able to at least hold their own.

It’s been only 2 games, but I find OL is much better than what they showed in preseason.

‘ironically, QB and WRs seemed great in preseason and OL was the weak link. Now OL seems ok, and QB+WRs+RBs suck eggs.

From what I've seen, they did improve some.
They are still not playing in synch, as a unit. That does take some time.
Are they the best? Not by a long shot.
Are they the worst? Not by a long shot.

There are some new faces on offense, and I know that every defense we play against, the modius operand will be to rush the crap out of Mitch because that has always been the case. Until he proves he can beat pressure, they are coming.

What I don't want to see is something like what that Buffalo Defense did to the Titans - They destroyed their offense.
The offensive linemen were just speed bumps in the turf.
Buffalo is probably going to do that to most every team, I just don't want Pittsburgh to allow Cleveland to impersonate an awesome defense like that.

The sacks are low by design as they are running tons of quick short passes which are almost like runs. If the play calling was for more longer downfield passes there would be much more sacks.

If, you're running from pressure ... towards the sideline. Why not simply, throw the ball away? Or, is that not legal anymore? The rules seem to change every quarter now ... lol

There may be some slight improvements, but I'm not sold yet. There still seem to be some of the same issues, but I'll happily admit different if things get better long term.

This is a point some seem to be missing. Trubisky isn't trusting the line enough to hang in there on deeper routes. That keeps the sack total down, but it also limits the offense.

This is true. I will say they haven't been as awful as I thought they might be...but that's not saying a lot.

When I start seeing 5 & 7 step drops with some rate of consistency with limited pressure...then I'll say there's some progress. Run blocking hasn't been as bad as some might think. Harris has missed plenty of opportunities. Not a popular take as he's a fan favorite, but he's not earning his keep running the ball or in protection.

The bummer is, that the bad offense we're seeing is not concentrated to one area. It's not great o-line play, poor playing calling, bad running game. Each kinda begets more of the next...viscous cycle.

Now that’s funny. You can’t even add anything of value to a discussion. It’s always some version of suck, they suck, dumlin… but have the gall to call someone a mouth breather.

I agree. It's not a stellar line, but when seeing analysis there is far more concern than just a line, for both the running and passing game.
