Plaxico's admission

Did anyone see the story on Steelers Depot where Plaxico told a reporter that he ran a soft route that led to the int the set up Richardson's TD? When I read that this morning it made me so mad I couldn't see straight. If Mike Tomlin knows this should he bench Plax for that crap? I don't know the actual like "tone" of the quote though. I don't know if he was saying he COULD have ran a better route to have helped Charlie or if he was saying he basically was laying down because Charlie sucked so bad that Plax had basically given up. I DO know that I didn't want Plax here and I hope a few more will share that sentiment now. So what do you guys think about this? This is why I hate bringing in guys like this off the street because they just take the money and don't care about winning. But I realize our backs were basically against the wall in this situation.

 

the ball was thrown late and had no zip and it was an easy play for the DB. sure Plax could have ran it a little better by coming back to the ball a bit, but its hard to blame him for that INT. sounds like he was trying to be a good teammate.

 

This is quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I have read on here.

 

I thoughtthe announcers also said that he ran the route soft or incorrectly they even drew on the screen how he ran and how he should have ran it right?

 

That's what I was wondering about. Was he trying to not make Charlie look so bad or did he go and say "hey I have an admission to make"? I wish I could actually HEAR HOW he said it ya know? I don't know how to put things from other sites on here as I am pc illiterate but if someone could get the article over here we could all read it and form our own opinion of it. But the vibe I got from the tone of the article was Plax was saying he had given up and basically threw Charlie under the bus with his play. I could be wrong though.

 

Okay... So he made mistake? There were plenty of them on Sunday. Here is a guy who was out of football and you think he slacked on purpose?

 

I'm sorry for being ridiculous. I guess from now on I just won't tell anyone what I read about the Steelers on other web sites if it's that big of a deal. Plax said it. A guy wrote it. I asked people about it. That's basically it. I just wanted to get other people's opinion about it is all. Sorry.

 

The tone of the article was basically that he did it on purpose. I'm not saying that I think he did or didn't. I was just wondering if people read it. I'm not surprised that he wouldn't give 100% on every play though. Most people don't on ANY team in ANY sport. If you could read the article you would see what I am saying. But no I don't like Plax. He's a crybaby thug and if he were really THAT good he wouldn't have been sitting at home watching football with the rest of us. I mean THE JETS didn't want him. The J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS! That's pretty indicative.

 

No the ridiculous part is that you suggested that he said he gave up because Charlie was struggling. Of course you can post what you heard and get everyone s opinions but to me, you let your feelings about plax cloud your judgement.

 

So, he screwed up, came out and tried to tell everyone it was his fault and now you want to bash him for it? This is what the team needs! You mess up, own it! Ward used to do it all the time. Ben does it. So because Pex is doing it he's a locker room cancer and unfit to play?

 

No offense but I wouldn't necessarily take what the jets do as a stroke of genius. We got him for practically nothing. If he can help us in the red zone great. If not, no harm no foul.

 

NO! NO! NO! The ARTICLE seemed to suggest it and THAT is why I was asking people about it. I was REALLY surprised to read it. I don't know how to take things from other sites and put them here. I can barely turn a cpu on but if you could read the article you would see what I was saying. It wasn't written from the perspective that he made a mistake. It was written from the perspective that he gave up and wanted to apologize. Please understand that I'm not saying I think he did that on purpose. And no my opinion of him has nothing to do with it. I'm JUST saying that's what the article said. I couldn't believe it when I read it. I was hoping someone else would've read it to tell me what they thought about it. Dang man I wish I could explain myself better.

 

Well if he wants to lay down on routes then that IS a harm and that IS a foul. If the tone of the article is not the reality that he was trying to convey then I apologize for misunderstanding.

 

Well tell that to the guy that wrote the article because I'm getting killed over here. LOL. Maybe I need to better explain the intent of my posts. It was more to find out if other people got the same vibe from the article. I'm telling you that article was meant NOT to make Plax look noble but lazy. If you read it you would see what I'm saying. Maybe it was a hit piece on Plax and I just bought it hook, line, and sinker. Oh well I guess I shouldn't be such a moron. LOL.

 

Okay. I took it as you weren t sure how the writer meant it but you thought plax gave up because Charlie was sucking. Your dislike for plax was pretty evident.

 

Yes I did admit my dislike for Plax but my intent was to show my confusion as pertaining to the article. I guess I more accurately articulate my negativity than I do my confusion. LOL. I'm pretty pessimistic so that actually makes sense.

 

I took it that way too.

 

Now that I've went back and read the original post I can see why people would think that. I put my dislike for Plax ahead of the actual intent that I was trying to convey. I'm sorry. I can really see why you would think that and miss what I was actually trying to get at in the first place.

So is it better to never talk like wallace and never try. He is being honest. He did not run a good route. It was not crisp.

 

I thought Plax ran a lazy route and failed to come back aggressively for the ball. Hopefully, he'll shake the rust off and improve with more game action.
