I want him to ball out and win a Superbowl for us. We'll worry about the heir apparent later.

But if he falters, let the KP era begin.

Agree, big time, But, define falters? Throws two picks in a game? Loses the game against the Bungles? We go 0-3 and he is playing terrible due to our OL? What is the trigger for putting in an untested rookie into the starting QB position to carry on the remainder of the season (Mitch not injured? I say KP is untested because he is until he is baptized in a real NFL game competition and does something we all hope. If KP ends up starting without Mitch being injured, something has gone very wrong and that is not what a real fan should be hoping for. If KP does get in like so many are hoping for and does poorly, then what? Hard for me to believe we had the unbelievable luck in getting the solution to our QB of the future just months after BB decided to leave. Other teams can take forever to do this, and some seem never able to find one. JMO>

Falter as in we have a losing record at the halfway mark.

It’s going to take that or an injury to see Pickett this season.

I really hope Pickett takes over eventually .... just due to his age. He is 24.

It would be a waste to see him not be a starter until he is 25 or 26.

I prefer huge leads in the 2nd half of games (rare) so we can put whatever other player in at a lot of different positions. WTFN

Good post and so right! Instant gratification seems to be what a lot of Steeler fans want. Imagine if Ben came to a game and what you stated above happens. You know they would start cheering for him to come back.

Spot on! I hope Mitch lights it up!

Pickett needs to hone his game on the NFL level. His age means nothing.

Why, so Picket can turn around and hand it to Benny Snell or Jaylen Warren to run out the clock?

He won't be throwing it with a two+ touchdown lead late in the game.

Not really, if he starts next year at 25, he can be the starter for 10 years up to age 35. QBs are playing until their late 30s these days.

This 100% I'm rooting for the QB of the Pittsburgh Steelers to win them ball games, no matter who it is.
