Steelers will probably be out of it by that point I wouldn’t get too worked up.

No one is going to talk about this supposed Prime ball?

Saw it on Pat M. Weird I think it's just a marketing campaign.

I have had Prime several times on free trial basis for a month and never paid for it. When I quit, they soon offer another free trial.

So, for those who want to have it for just one game then quit, buy something at Amazon and sign up for the free one month trial. Have no idea what more needs to be done to watch programming with Prime. Guess I may have to look into it too.

So what. Just cause I want to be an Astronaut doesn’t mean I get to.
There’s some pretty entitled attitudes in this thread.
People make choices on where to live. Not everyone that lives in the sticks gets to have the highest quality technology.
If you want want something bad enough you can usually figure out a way to make it happen.
Streaming whether people like it or not is the way of the future.

This was also said about Laser disk, and many other things. LoL
Also many of Your tunes would change if You spent a bunch of money 2 see every game, and they switched a game in a way You couldn't see it.

I’d pay for the service to watch the game or drive to a sports bar to watch it.
It stinks that it’s a challenge for some fans to view some games.

Again. I have Amazon prime. For a bunch of other things. Like free shipping, and stuff for reading on My kindle, but I just don't have the ability 2 stream.....and I don't like watching the Steelers with anyone, but Myself, and a select few.
Last time I watched a game with a bunch of non Steelers fans .....Well needless 2 say it..
..., but it didn't end very well.
I believe paying for every sports channel on the dang TV, and paying for NFL Sunday Ticket should be enough.
    Period.

NFL is optimizing revenue not the experience. Personally, I don't like the live streaming quality I often get with cable internet and have no other option at the moment.

I am thinking that NFL Sunday ticket will be streaming only starting next year so this issue will be much worse.

Ironically Amazon is allowing bars to carry the TNF games via DirecTV. https://awfulannouncing.com/amazon/thursday-night-football-directv-amazon.html

I am a 25 yr Directv customer, including the purchase of the Sunday ticket. It irritates me that I must pay for the ticket this yr, but new customers don’t have to pay a penny for it.

Amazon shows the Thurs night game which is separate from Sunday ticket. I assume Amazon will have rights to Sunday games after this yr as Directv is losing the contract.

I for one am very happy that DirecTV’s exclusive rights to out of market Sunday games is expiring. I had DirecTV and Sunday Ticket for years, but I got sick of having to go outside and brush my dish off to watch TV while it was snowing, and not being able to watch TV at all during hard rain. I gave them ample opportunity to fix it, and they failed, so back to cable I went. As far as I’m concerned the requirement to spend $$$ to buy full DirecTV programming packages in order to watch games is an antitrust violation, and there is still ongoing litigation related to this subject with a trial set for 2024.

We’ll have to see what happens with the 2023 season. It will be interesting if the NFL goes from one exclusive arrangement to another.

As for Thursday games on Prime. I have Prime and fast broadband, but I do think it’s stinky that the only way for people to watch Thursday games is streaming. Is a Prime subscription required, or can someone stream the game Al la carte for a fee?

In a strange tangent and not entirely relatable I have been trying to find a good 4k UHD bluray player for the few movies I consider must have in my collection (complete Star Wars set) and every review I read is gripping about smart features and streaming apps that suck. I have myriads of other things for streaming so I just want a good quality player and not hundreds of opinions on smart features and streaming apps. Also the laser disc thing is funny too because the secondary market for those is crazy. I was surfing ebay looking for a working model because the only format I don't own Star Wars on is laser disc and the original VHS release in the 80's. My parents had gotten the RCA video disk player thinking that was the future buy the large size and multiple disks needed for long movies killed it. You can still find them in pawn shops

Every member I've seen on here who has Sunday Ticket has said all it takes to get it free is to call customer service say your canceling it and they get it for free because directTV wants to keep customers.

Given Amazon's on demand content I'd assume the live broadcast will be required prime membership with the game being available to buy afterwards but don't quote me on that.

While we are bitching I can’t watch Pirate or Penguin games because they both contracted with a service that DishNetwork just dumped

    And I can’t stream

    I’m not sure I care

Jeh did you try ESPN+? I signed up for the bundle because ESPN got back into broadcasting hockey and I was surprised by how many Pens games I got to watch in high def. Only time I didn't was due to blackout regulations when they played the Wild. Not sure about Bucs games.

See if NFL works this way for all the games it's different, I would figure something out , and not be paying for every sportschannel , plus the SundayTicket, but just for one game .....this year....I find it annoying..

I have the late 90's re-release, the vhs box set of the updated trilogy, the first release of DVD, the two disc release which includes special edition and original release remastered from the laser disc release, bluray and 4kUHD. I held onto the RCA video disks my folks had but the player was destroyed in the flood that wrecked the house in 97. I'm kind of a nut for Star Wars but like I tell the wife of all the vices I could have this isn't the worst.

I get hit with the blackout for both because AT&T Sportsnet has the local rights

Somehow it doesn’t seem right there is a blackout due to local rights when you can’t get it locally
