many a time in preseason those tickets are sold to nonseason ticket holders, by the season ticket holders. trying to recoup some money they spend on the season tickets. they are expensive. those are usually not the same people that will be there regularly. still the booing was not deserved. i agree show some class.

everyone is on the kenny pickett show band wagon and the kid did good but if you break down the little things it will show some growth is needed. looking at each throw some things stand out. kenny threw short most of the game. mason at least threw to the sticks and beyond. kenny on most threw short of the sticks and a player made the line to gain. those are things the coaches will see in film study.

all Qb's make bad throws at times and as a casual fan may not see why. the pass lane may have had a defender at the line in his sight or had a hand up and made the pass be altered. many little things at ground level may not always be seen from the seats on any given play. not trying to make excuses but these things happen every play. design and actuality can vary from play to play.

the view from the QBs eye is much more difficult than the view from the stands. guys get screened from view at that level. many things alter a play from that level. it's not usually as cut and dry as people think.

Rudolph can't complete a pass past the yellow line for the first down...So many pass behind the blue line too!

Of course there’s room for growth, but Pickett’s YPC was 12 and his YPA was around 10. That’s strong! I’ll admit that I’m not watching the game but I saw some downfield throws to DJ and Muth that were on the money. I agree that he’s not a finished product, but I’m not sure I agree with your assessment.

The film is right there. It shows every throw. None of them are lighting it up not is the offense in general. I think it's all a work in progress. Kenny will get there. I think Colbert made the right choice.

I’ll take a look, but I think if he’s throwing short but still racking up a YPA/YPC of over 10 it indicates his ball placement is giving his receivers a chance to gain YAC. I really like what we’re seeing out of him.

It looked better tonight. They just have seen that I'm sure in the film study. We have a good QB coach and he will and has improved these guys. It will continue. It will have to gel unit wide though. Not just that position. This is a young group, as I have stated before. It's going to be a work in progress.

I'm not so sure it was that cut and dry between he and MT. They looked hard at many qbs. The rest of the league didn't seem to agree with him in the first.

Fans love to hate on Mason, some idiot on the post-game show said he would take Duck Hodges over Mason , I'm not his biggest fan but that's ridiculous.

When you rely solely on a team's record when a quarterback starts to judge that quarterback, you've lost the argument before you even got started.

your response implies that it isn't debatable. For a qb that was surrounded by a lot of uncertainty it really seemed like a reach pick for the first round. Nothing is necessarily a certainty in the first round, but i most certainly don't think i would have selected a qb who had one good year in college (ala Trubisky) . The hand size was meh. I don't know what to necessarily make of that, but nonetheless i just don't think he was a sure thing first round pick, small hand size or not, and your 1st rd pick should be as close to a no -brainer as possible. He might have been as far as QB...but I don't think so when you talk best available player at that time. He seemed like a Mayfield pick....someone who would be good, but not great.

how so? isn't the goal to win games? who would you rather have a QB that wins or one that looks good in interviews but can't win a game? now you have lost that argument. by the way i'm done with your having to be correct about everything, so consider yourself the king and i will move on with my opinions. ...................and on and on and on and on and on.................................

Pretty much agree. We all talk and many times not in the greatest light of certain players.

But imo there is nothing more distasteful in sports than to boo your own players.

I am on the Kenny Pickett bandwagon although I don't think he's perfect with a limited sample size. I don't see Mason as more than a capable backup although he made some decent throws.

Ultimately i support Mason though not going to boo him or any other player wearing a Steelers jersey.

We are going to see Mason and Mitch interchanged in a few games before we see Kenny. There will be a quick hook on both of them. The O-line scares me for Pickett and I would rather see him after the line is sured up.
