The presser started with Ravens game notes.

    Injuries:

Cotchery -is out with multiple rib fractures.

Leftwich -is out with rib fractures.

    Questionables-

Hood -Questionable with lumbar spine sprain expected to be limited.

Redman - Concussion. He's testing well and 'arrows pointing towards participation'.

Brown -Ankle. Did good work today, but will be limited early in the week.

Gilbert -Limited and listed as questionable.

Troy -Will run tomorrow. He'll be limited and his participation will lead us.

Ben -Doubtful with shoulder SC sprain. Had further tests today and all things were positive as to where he is.

Confirmed they brought in Hoyer and Kaska for QB workouts, as well as Burress and Williams at WR.

Said there's potential to sign at least one at each position.

Tomlin went on to say that the men we acquire will fortify our depths. Doesn't have more info for us, but that process is running it's course.

    Spent time highlighting Browns strengths.

About Plex: said he's in good physically condition and is no stranger to football.

When asked how soon we need them on roster-

'The men here are the ones going to lead us to victory. These guys are just being added to fortify our roster.'

When asked if Cotchery and Leftwich's injuries were season ending-

Tomlin said 'no, I don't believe that's the case.'

    When asked about Kaska-

Looking for guys who have earned their livings as backups. Obviously batch is going to get the bulk of snaps this week, and rightfully so. These two guys have reputations for football smart, intelligent people.

    On Ben's news:

Shoulder and rib are one in the same for Tomlin.

Will Gilbert step back in when he's healthy?

'He's not healthy right now, so we'll deal with that when we get to it.'

Dywer's doing a good job. Need a good, solid contribution from all backs with helmets on.

    On having a feature back:

"My preference would be a healthy, solidified feature runner. I don't always get what I want."

    On Charlie:

Changes will be subtle in the game. They'll be maximizing his strengths and minimizing his weaknesses. They've got a lot of confidence in Charlie.

    On Leftwich:

Tomlin said he saw nothing on field, and heard nothing from Leftwich, to believe his starting QB was badly hurt. Sometimes you see, sometimes you don't. Had no qualms on level of communication from all parties involved.

    On Dixon:
'Just talking about the guys we had here today. Not talking about why we didn't have the ones we didn't. That's not fair to them.'

    On Williams:
He's a multi-talented guy who can help in a number areas. Still healthy.

Coach T said Brown being healthy potentially changes the opinion of needing to bring a WR this week, but he's not at this point.

I'm sorry, but what a joke about not seeing Leftwich being injured or having his play affected. If he didn't see the obvious it's up to one of the other coaches to point it out. Everyone else on the planet observing that game saw it.

No kidding. I dont' even see how Tomlin can spout this BS. It was clear as day Lefty was affected by his injury. He winced every time he threw the ball. You cannot properly throw a ball if you're wincing every time, the body will just not allow you to do something that causes pain. The body will make you adjust to try to limit the pain. Tomlin cost us that game.

I'll be happy when his press conference is about something other than injuries.

Big B will be back for the Bmore game! My opinion but not that he is rushed back, just that I don't think the injury was ever that serious

So true dude. If the league supposedly has all these measures in place to increase safety how can they just stand there and watch a guy suffer and not set their foot down and tell him he has to come out of the game. I know the training staff looked at him but I'm really starting to wonder how good of a staff we have anyway. I mean look at how banged up our guys stay. Maybe we need a whole new conditioning crew or something. It's just been one thing after another this year. Also look at how fragile Woodley has been too. I'm just starting to wonder is all. Anyone have any insight on this?

Agreed... I love to hear him talk, but it is becoming more and more difficult to believe anything that comes out of his mouth...
How can he sit there with a straight face, and tell us, he saw nothing wrong with Byron/ believed what he told him?!?!
And on a side note, If the "Standard", is playing inconsistentley.. yeah, our backups have been doing that..
2nd side note.. to all (Myself included), who wanted Hood to be replaced, It sounds like he might be...
Didj`ya notice the comment about "Lumbar strain"? Sounds like a back injury, to me...

Isn't it now required that an independent trainer be up in the both to see injuries that those on the ground miss? I know this was put in place to detect concussions, but wouldn't someone holding his ribs qualify, too? Didn't a team get in trouble last year for not "seeing" an injury?

Let Cam Heyward play. He had a little fire in his belly the other night. There is nothing that's gonna make me any more happy than to see us come out Sunday with a chip on our shoulder and absolutely destroy anything that moves in a Cleveland uniform. I hope the team will rally around Charlie and the line will play smart but nasty and just crush the clowns. I'd love to see the look on Tomlin's face if he had to hand the game ball to Charlie when it's all said and done. I know that's probably a long shot but I'd love so see him send a message to Tomlin that the old man still has it.

Serious enough that he missed 2 games and might be 3, some reports have him coming back for the SD game. Even if it's just 2 games, it's got to be bad for Ben to sit out even that many.

not that serious? a rib injury that was so rare only one other this year to compare it to .. the fact that had the rib moved the wrong way ben dies from a punctured aorta? the main way blood moves away from the heart and the rib moves in. punctures it .. and ben dies ? sounds pretty F ing serious to me?

i hate to hear him talk.. usually i think hes a good coach that has the team pretty well prepared.. but as i said long before the game. his worst decision ever was to start leftwich over batch... thats just stupid... and then to pass twice near the goal line when we are running the ball for 5 or 6 yards a clip was poor play calling.. and a fade that is thrown out of bounds? you may as well jsut throw the ball into the stands.. the fade is stupid ... but to listen to him talk.. and i said it before and you guys slammed me for it .. but his standard is the standard makes me want to puke and is the biggest bu ch of BS.. is the standard the same with lefty or batch or miller at QB instead of ben? NOOOOOOOOOO ... is the standard still the standard with plax at WR rather then AB... its just total BS.. and then he said he didnt see ANYTHING that made him think there was anything wrong with leftwich? what game was tomlin watchin? what a joke? right before tomlin challenged the spot of the ball.. leftwich was sucking wind like casey hampton in denver.. are you kidding me.. he was sucking wind more then i would be? looked liek he was ready to pass out or have a heart attack.. and he said i didnt see anything.. then he needs glasses or needs to watch the same game as the rest of us... his press conferences are a joke..

Yea, the same injury that has him listed as doubtful instead of "definitely out", Cotch and Lefty have rib injuries and they are out, like I said, im not thinking rush him back if that's even the case but I don't always believe what I hear off the bat

so if ben is only doubtful instead of OUT why did we sign another QB when we only dress 2 anyway? if he had any chance at all to play they wouldnt have signed another QB? its just typical tomlin BS talk.. trust me hes out this week

Tomlin should run for Politics once his coaching career is done. Not that I would ever vote for the guy but people buy up his BS in droves. Surely, he would get elected.

Wow really? I never got that impression - at ALL. The thing with Tomlin not knowing Lefty was hurt is crap and cost us the game. Not sure if he is just covering his ass because he knows that or what, but he sounds like a moron saying that.

He has certainly mastered the art of saying nothing. I think when he's in the filmroom he also watches and analyzes Bill Belichik's pressers. LOL.
