He's a Steelers analyst and a strong candidate for the vacant General Manager job in the Steelers front office.

Same. Beat writers on twitter or just do a search on twitter for Steelers and look for news.

Back in the day I followed Dale Lolley's blog, he is pretty close to the team. I don't know if he does it anymore?

Some of those local guys get to sit in on practices so they know what is up, but most stay close to the vest.

Arthur Moats drops some nuggets here and there on his YouTube channel. I think he gets to sit in on practices too.

Of course Steelers Depot. I used to visit Post-Gazette site a lot until they put up the pay wall.

I'm surprised there wasn't more talk about Bouchette retiring. I know some here don't like him, but the guy was a lens through which multiple generations of Steelers fans could view the team. He had been writing about the team since the 1980s. It is odd for me to see the praise of Kovacevic and someone pointing out that Bouchette could be an ******* sometimes. I was around many of these guys the few times I got to cover the Steelers when I was in the business. Bouchette was nothing but gracious and kind. He treated even the newbies or part-timers the same and didn't mind being helpful to people who worked for the competition. Kovacevic was not that at all, and if you do some digging into his behavior since starting his own outlet, you will see which guy can really be an *******.

Lolley has been at this a long time. He's also a good guy. I remember sitting next to him in the press box for games back when he was with the O-R. I hate to see Bouchete go, but if Lolley got to move into a better gig, I'm happy for him.

Does anyone else here miss Sports Beat? Sports Beat was for years my favorite place for inside Steelers news. Guys like Tunch Ilkin and Nolan Harrison would explain things that were going on in the locker room, and field in a way that made you feel like you were part of it.

For that matter I miss Stan Savran being a larger part of covering the Steelers. He covered the Steelers from a realist perspective. He wasn't unnecessary hard on the team, but at the same time he didn't heitate to blast them when the situation called for it. Truly the best in the Biz as far as I'm concerned.

I hope Stan is doing well in his battle against cancer. These youg fans have no idea what they are missing getting their news off Twitter.

BTW, I also miss Copes Cabana. Best show to sober up to while you celebrate a win, or agonize over a loss.
