No problem, it was a hard article to read, I had to force a looong pause at each comma for it to make sence to me.

What I don't quite understand, was if I recall correctly, wasn't Butler the emergency in game QB while Heath was out. To me, that alone should have been worth something.

 

Here is the thing how much can a position coach do when they have to teach within the constraints of an overall defensive scheme. He maybe be great at teaching man to man coverage but that comes into to play so rarely in a DL system. I m starting to think they have a lot of bad habits to break in some of these guys before they can begin to progress them. Case in point I don't think Gay or Allen excell in a zone coverage system. I would like to see them maybe not so much man to man but being physical at the line with the receivers and really making them work for a catch.

 

he's also dealing with 3 guys that are in the twilight of their careers.

I read something about us going after cb's that are a little better as man coverage guys. c. brown was supposed to be in that mix. this was a couple of years ago.

they wanted to get away some from the zone guys for turnover reasons and the passing game the league is moving toward. BUT, we are still using our zone guys, ike,gay,troy,clark and trying to work two other safeties as nickel back or actually dime covermen, while troy plays a SS/LB role. golden and Thomas.

the defense is not good at it yet. there may be some cover up for Williams coming into play.

cortez is like a man without a country until they play more of a traditional db setup. I think DLB figures more DB's the better this year but with safeties to help with the run. they did this a few years back too. I think it was around the time of kid from Syracuse that made the prediction we would beat the pats. the safety. smith? I didn't care for it then, but we didn't have the landshark yet either.
