It is fun for us to speculate on an undefeated season here, though very early, but I hope the Steelers themselves are concentrating only on going 1-0 vs. the Jaguars. Although an undefeated season is unlikely, if they do it I think it would be cool to invite surviving members of the 72 Dolphins to celebrate with them. It would be a very select club.

Tomlin seems to be doing a very good job of keeping his team on task this year. He has so far not had one of those games where they should have beaten the opponent but laid an egg. Maybe it is a lack of distractions.

You have to be both good and lucky to be 9-0 in the NFL, and I think it is fair to say they have been both.

????? That I don't understand. KC lost to an AFC team. Washington is not beating us so if we have 1 loss it will also be to an AFC team. Let's say we are 15-1 and the loss was the Ravens. That would mean we both have are only loss to a divisional rival. Does the points scored come into play????

I think I'd prefer they go 15-1... 16-0 is fantastic but it really helps when a team is humbled at least once in a season.

It's either conference wins then common opponent wins or vice-versa, I think.

This looks like it's division record, then common opponents, then conference.

    NFL Playoff Tiebreakers
We generally will see teams finish with the same record, and that means tiebreakers will come into effect to decide seeding and just overall a team making the playoff. The first tiebreaker is going to be head-to-head. If a team beat that team earlier in the season, they would hold the advantage with the tiebreaker. If there was no game played or they are division teams and split the season series, it will go to the best win percentage within the division. If it needs to go further, it will go between the best win percentage in common games, meaning the same opponents that each team has played. Now if it continues, it will go to the best win percentage within the conference win percentage. It rarely goes past this, but strength of victory and strength of schedule begin to get factored in.

A secondary goal. He's always been about winning championships. If you can do both, great. But if you have to choose one, he's made his focus clear.

Exactly, that's why Tomlin said in his presser that "the only thing perfect with the team is it's record".

I actually think Tomlin's best coaching performances have come in the last 2 seasons. He's never been a great game manager but he does seem to get the guys to buy in and he's incredibly consistent in his messaging. We could have worse.

And at the Raiders, who already beat them in KC. Covid is hurting both teams- Many on LV's defense in protocol, Chief's top three tackles in protocol.

Raiders entire defense might miss Chiefs game. Frankly, this is such an important game they should move it to Monday or Tuesday.

Even the biggest TOMLIN haters have to give the guy credit so far. I mean 9-0 is one hell of a feat. However with TOMLIN it’s never truly been about his regular season accomplishments. Never having a losing season speaks volumes to that. It’s the fact he’s become the Marty Schotz of playoff coaching. 3 wins in 10 years. Those are the demons that man has to overcome.

Im not even close to buying that Raiders team as legit but it’s certainly unfair if they have to play missing that amount of players.
