I'm old school, and I never like doing it.....unless You must for a winning drive. Otherwise always take the points.
But I watched 5 different teams do it yesterday when they were in field goal range, and some were even up in the score. It's the way they play today,,but I still don't like it.

I would never go for it,,but let's not act like it's just Tomlin. Just this Sunday I seen it done on 4th , and two twice by 2 different HCs, and 4, and one by three more, and none where behind more than 3, and two were actually ahead in the score, and they all were in field goal range. It's how they play today, and I hate it....., and that was just Sunday 3 oclock games.

i don't care how others do it, i want our longest tenured head coach to play wiser than the other children. call a time out when it looks like a Chinese fire drill going on or take the lead by 8. make wise decisions in those scenario's and help your team.

I totally agree, but one of those so called children was a HC of the year.....something that many have said was impossible for our HC to win, and therein is what I mean by judging our team, player, and Coaches in a void. Hell I even heard people on game day thread state..... ..Only Tomlin would do this......when that same exact day....I watch not only one, but 5 different HCs do it, and that was only on the 3 o'clock games....no telling how many more actually did it I didn't see.

I would say that an even bigger issue than clock management might actually be time out management. It is a similar thing, but how many times have we seen plays that absolutely should have been challenged go unchallenged and plays that never should have been challenged are challenged? All too often.

Additionally, this particular situation was an excellent example of when a timeout should have been used instead of hoarded. You want to keep those timeouts as long as you can so that you have them at the end of the game, but spending one to help get a touchdown is a pretty good use of one.

I want to see McCormick used as a fullback on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1.

it's not really about what play was being run but the offensive line didn't know what was going on. especially with two new guys in that lineup at the time. having the whole offense on the same page and especially the big uglies knowing what is happening pretty crucial. this isn't the first time they pulled dumb chit down near the goal line trying to fool the other team and it backfires. it's been way too many times.
