I don't really have an exact number in mind, but I'd say it's safe to say we get about 4-5 more years out of him. My plan would be to get ourselves in a good position to rebuild around Ben for the next year or two, so that he gets another 2-3 years to make a run at a Superbowl with a championship caliber roster around him. With the way we're rebuilding the offensive line, Ben could really change his game as he gets older to be more of a pocket passer. He's pretty stubborn but who knows.

He will turn 31 in about a month. Favre palyed at 41, Elway 38, Trent Green 38 Warner 37, Gannon 36, McNair 36.

My ideal situation would be to draft a QB in round 1 in about 4 years. I say you take a QB in the first round even if you don't need him yet. The Carson Palmer/Aaron Rodgers type situation is the best case scenario.

I think 4 years is about the right time to start looking for the next guy. Until then, we should get guys who have some quality experience, and maybe a 4th rounder or later to bring in as the #3 and groom to be a #2 eventually.

depends if somehow in the next two draft after this one you are in the position to draft a top college qb on the top of first round you have to pull the trigger

Next year still seems too early for me, but I gotta say if we were picking near the top 10... THEN I'd be ok grabbing a QB, just because its rare we're in that position.
