You can only keep one Dwyer or Mendenhall, who is it?

I can see that it's good to discuss them as "either/or" for a messageboard discussion - but really, I absolutely agree with these two posts. Let's be happy we've got both, PLUS Redman, Rainey and Batch as utility guys. Cannot wait to see Dwyer and Mendy playing together.

when healthy, Mendenhall has the most talent. I would take Mendenhall.

I've never been a huge Mendy fan to begin with. I don't dislike him, I just haven't been as impressed with him as I thought I'd be when he first started playing. I do love what I'm seeing from Dwyer, though. If he keeps it up, this could be the start of something great.

I would take Dwyer because he comes alot cheaper and Mendenhall is going to be a UFA the Steelers shouldn't re-sign him.

    Yup, I agree.

If I had to pick only one I'd go with Mendy, but Dwyer definitely has his value

I think Batch has the least to offer this team out of the whole stable.

We have been hearing and waiting for years now about who the next "Bus" is or will be and I hate to pull the trigger on this one, but he sure looked Bettis like today in a few ways. I don't see why we can't have both if we sacrifice others. But if I had to pick... Check back at the end of the season or even a few more weeks.

Lets evaluate after the season is over, I like all our Rb's
Even with Mendy healthyit would be RB by committee.

    I hope so.

Anyway I've always preferred power over flash when you can pull it off.

This may be one of those times but I don't want to make that call yet until I see more evidence. (Insert magnifying glass smiley or microscope smiley here)

I do not want Steven Jackson at 6 mill a year. We have good enough backs. They can also beat off defenders

Funny. Let's say you were dating Kate Upton, but she moved on to someone else for the time being. Now, you are dating Kate Hudson. No slouch, but certainly not to Upton's level. You've heard that Kate Upton has broken up with her other guy, and now wants to get back with you........

How many would stick with Hudson just because she's "producing" for you currently, or who would go back to the superior talent?????? :lolol:

I'd prefer to trade Mendenhall and either go with Dwyer or Redman. I was amazed when they said the last time Pittsburgh had a running back get back to back 100+ yd games was Parker. I never thought Mendy was great but thought he at least accomplished that. I don't like Mendy's running style and would love to trade him while he still has value. Especially if we could get some defensive help for him.

I'm not sure Mendenhall has a body of work that would qualify him as "Elite." He had 2 pretty good years but has never produced at an elite level. After 5 years in the league I feel like we are past judging him on potential, even if he has worked behind a subpar line for all of his career.

Well Fast Willie had consecutive 100yd games and I never thought HE was great. So just because a guy has a couple of good games it's hard to anoint him. DO NOT get me wrong I like him a lot. I'm just saying I don't know if it's time to start getting rid of proven commodities for two good games.

Most can tell if a player has it or not, Dwyer and Redman have it, mendy is done even if he does come back I'd rather watch Dwyer and Redman pound the ball down the D's throat ,wearing them out instead of watching Mendy trying to run around the D for the same yards. (that's if he can break tackles like a Dwyer, mendy goes down too easy)

Mendy reminds me of beanie wells, they both spend more time rehabing than they do playing, durability means a lot in a running back, if they cant stay on the field then they arent contributing, yeah I know, mendenhall can do this, and he can do that, but watching him stand on the sideline every week reminds me he cant do nothing.....Same goes for Troy...
