Kemo benched per this excerpt from the PPG:

    Rough stretch for Kemoeatu
After he committed three major penalties and botched a second-down running play at the goal line in the second half, Chris Kemoeatu likely will not get another chance to exonerate himself.

Kemoeatu is expected to be replaced at left guard by Trai Essex against the San Francisco 49ers Dec. 19 -- if Maurkice Pouncey is unable play and Doug Legursky has to move back to center.

Two of Kemoeatu's three penalties against the Browns wiped out third-down conversions, with the latter resulting in a Roethlisberger interception on the next play.

Kemoeatu was also late getting to the hole on the second-down counter play from the Browns 1, allowing linebacker Chris Gocong to stop Mendenhall for no gain.

That's fine but frankly if he's such a well documented screw-up, why even keep him around? There has to be someone else out there on the waiver wire or unemployed free agent list that can come in a be a serviceable (aka non- screw-up) for us.

One thing about that article that stuck a chord with me was were it said Ben checked to the run due to the right side being overloaded. Yet we ran it right into the overload. Is it possible that we see that same run play so often because it is the only one Ben checks to???? Could it possibly be that defenses have figured out when Ben is checking to a run play and know what the resulting play will be???? Could they show a scheme to try and force a check down to a run because they know what they will get??????

I think it is because his screw ups really only started late last year. Until then he was an average overall guard (although he was one of the better pulling guards in the league)

There's some sense to that - but surely Ben could just flip the play?
