YES!! Sly Stallone gets an Academy Award nomination!!

This HAS to be a good sign for us this weekend right ? I mean ROCKY getting the Nomination ? I mean to me this is just GOOD KARMA!

If you read or have heard Sly talk...he grew up a Steelers fan. And just like his Character Rocky, like us he is the Ultimate Underdog.

 

Yeah that's moor taint.

 

This will at least make up for the greatest Oscar snub of all time since Death Race 2000 didn't win best picture. Of course they still have yet to acknowledge the colossal screw up that also snubbed Over The Top and Cobra. These people are slow learners.

 

Cobra should have swept the Oscars

 

Sadly it did not. We all know that Hawk is the greatest arm wrestler of all time though and Over the Top is easily the greatest arm wrestling movie ever. I mean literally just name ONE arm wrestling movie that's better than it. Yep. That's right. You can't.

I say that Sly AND Sandra Bullock should have pulled down Oscars for Demolition Man along with best screenplay! One of funniest tongue in cheek movies ever. Now if I can only figure out the 3 seashell thing over at the Taco Bell restroom.

 

I have a buddy that is absolutely obsessed with Demolition Man.

 

It's easy to do - the DM writers lead the way for the Coen Brothers chain of absurd and ironic screenplays. Although first Back to the Future was excellent juxtaposed ironic humor.

 

Yeah the Coen's rule at oddball and offbeat humor.
