Of course according to plan, the Steelers do NOTHING while the Patriots and Ravens get much better. The raiders are the favorites to get a much needed TE playmaker in Bennett. We have cap space, make a damn significant free agency move to give us a chance to TRY and compete versus the Patriots BEFORE Ben retires in one or two years!!!! Unbelievable AGAIN!!!!!!!

AWESOME post and response! That kind of thinking will at least have us at 6 super bowls and we can all just sit back and watch the Patriots get 7 or 8! Go root for them, why don't you!!

I agree. I thought this may be the year the Steelers step it up and find a true difference maker in free agency. They've signed David Johnson and Landry Jones while the Pats gobbled up Stephon Gilmore, the Rats signed Tony Jefferson to team with Eric Weddle, Bouye is gone, Kirkpatrick is out and we're out of the gate with a fizzle. I realize it's early but some of the DBs I thought could be good plays in light of our cap position are already gone, most of them to our major competitors in the AFC.

I actually hope that Ross gets took and maybe some Team will get way desperate and trade for LJ...I don't like the fact that we have did next to zero to improve the Team , but sadly this is how we normally do...

Hoping we lose a cheap experienced starter is awfully stupid. It's one thing to have poorly informed opinions, but when those poorly informed opinions result in even further irrational "hopes", it's a sign.

Ravens got jefferson which is a big boost but they are losing dumervil, their nose tackle williams and some offensive linemen. They got worse IMO. Dont forget weddle is up there in years, he is going to fall off soon and is injury prone. Bengals lost some offensive linemen too. Steelers are status quo.

Big deal the Ravens signed a safety, they haven't gotten better. They are losing a lot of their free agents. The Steelers still have time to sign a FA, most of these teams are overpaying for those free agents.

Relax we been improving every year so I think going by this we should make the Super Bowl and somehow lose to the pats as they became an NFC team. Then Ben retires

Man! I was hoping I wouldn't have to see Brandon Williams in a Ravens uniform next year.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, Ozzie Newsome loves trench players...

Seriously it's the first day and we aren't paying 10+ million a year for a corner. The Steelers process works and has worked for 40+ years so why change it now? There are still some decent corners out there that we are going to get a decent deal on now. Who remembers the season the Redskins brought in every single high priced free agent out there and won like 5 games. Get people that fit for the right price. The Steelers aren't making a FA the highest paid member of the defense it's just not going to happen.

Ozzie Newsome has to be the most overrated GM in the NFL.

Welp...if the sound of crickets persists through the FA period, then I will be pissed if they don't go ahead and get a long-term deal worked out with Juice BUT put in protective language in case of suspensions.

There won't be much cap space left once Bell gets a contract. Which means to tell me the Steelers are trying to work one out long term with him, since they have been a little more quite thus far in Free Agency.
