I think they are both quality rb's,Its a shame our OC doesn't understand
the importance of the run game. Mendy can take it to the house.
Redman cannot. Redman has a big motor, but really must not fumble from here on
out. The ball is in his court now, lets see what he can do with it.

GB, you make the most sense. You broke it down to them in the simplest terms. The Super Bowl is not the only time that Mendy has fumbled at a critical time. And yes, Redman is more consistant and a tougher runner and will run you over, not Mendy. See Mendenhalls four trys against the Browns at Heinz this year. That really showed Mendy's toughness right. Truer words have never been put so right GB_Steel!!!!

MoJo, what is wrong with you? What would prompt you to make a statement like that, 10x the fumbler? Let me say this, Redman is definitely a tougher runner then Mendenhall, that is plain as day to see. He may have had a couple fumbles in that game, but believe me, he is a very relieble and capable back. He will get the job done. Now if only they had a good lead full back in front of him, you would see a great performance from him. (see former Steeler fullback John Kuhn of the Packers who made the Pro-Bowl). As it is, I believe the running game will be better with him starting.

If he does good in these playoffs, I don't see the Steelers paying Mendy a lot of money because his contract is up. I see them letting him go the route of free agancy. Let some other team pay him a lot of money. I don't see the Steelers making the same mistake they made in signing Woodley to all that money. They usually make the right decisions about there own free agents. I think Woodley was a mistake they are not willing to make again, especially when they could have gotten two good free agent linemen to protect Ben for what they paid Woodley. All they had to do was franchaise Woodley for 10 million and with the other 51 million they paid Woodley, sign two good free agent linemen and let Woodley walk in 2012. The Steelers know how to develop good LB's anyway.

So, the bottom line is not to make the same mistake with Mendenhall when there are good backs out there who can replace him for a lot less money to work with Redman.

I call Redman a "Mini-Bettis" because he pushes through the center and doesn't dance around like Fast Willie Parker, er I mean Mendenhall.

I'm excited to see Clay start to get better too!
