I'd say no to that too.

Yes, in this case, I'm saying that. We know TJ fits our system well and is an impact player. Watson is good, but I don't think it would be worth giving up TJ for him, especially with the current OL we have.

I would love to have Watson as our quarterback. But not at the price it would take make it happen.

Watson isn't bad but he's not great he's just kinda there. Whoever does get him will probably overpay.

No, not at two 1sts, a 3rd + Watt. Too steep.

I know that but theres a hypothetical going around for several teams on what it would take to pry him away.

Watt for Watson straight up will never be on the table but I already answered that one.

Sure, I'd make that trade assuming Ben isn't back.

Most folks here think Watt for Watson is too much. Good news you guys, I’m sure the Texans think it’s too little.

That thought is absolutely insane to me and once again proves why fans are fans and general managers are general managers.

The fact that you’re arguing over some hypothetical nonsense that will never happen then dropping the “that’s why fans are fans and GM’s are GM’s “ is what’s really insane.

If he was drafted by the Steelers....maybe. That's only 1 draft pick and salary cap situation. 2 get him now, and not sure how good he really is. It would be ...2 or More draft picks , loss of players , and then the Salary cap situation. I agree with you a lot , but not on this.

How did we make out when Ben was playing well and the offense was lighting up the scoreboard prior to 2019 when the defense was our weakness? We need both. If we lose Dupree, no way we can also lose Watt. Highsmith may turn into a stud but we don't know that yet.

Straight up is a no brainer. Finding a franchise QB is a helluva lot harder than finding a franchise DE or OLB. I would not hesitate to pull the trigger.

However, that trade is a pipe dream. All the pundits are proposing teams sell the farm for Watson, which I vehemently oppose. For example, someone suggested that the NYG give up Daniel Jones, Saquon and draft picks for Watson. Crazy talk.

it’s gonna be an interesting cat and mouse game and fun to watch unfold. But the eventual Watson lottery winner will end up losing a mint of assests and picks. This could be Herschel Walker-esque.

First of all Ben ain't going anywhere so the point is moot. Secondly you need defense more than offense to win the Lombardi so making that trade will eventually bite ya when you don't want it to. Trust me whoever has the better defense next Sunday will be the winner. Although if that trade were to happen I wouldn't be screaming all the time over the no holding calls so my blood pressure would benefit greatly.

Yes, in a heartbeat . Watson is young and has at least 10+ years of elite play ahead of him . We could win a SB with him for sure.

Since Watson is a year older than TJ, it would follow that TJ has 11+ years of elite play ahead

Agrred, In my hypothetical we keep Dupree. If you were to move watt you need Dupree. In my world ben gives you back the money you need to pay for Dupree.

I agree. Straight up. I make the deal. First and second round draft picks plus marquee players? You're right, someone will do it, but by the time they are competitive, Watson will be in a wheel chair.

    Straight up yes.

For the kings ransom I hear it would take.. no.

The cheapest I saw was 24, TJ and Minkah and 2022 1st round.

No thank you.....I think Watson is a great talent... but I never saw him put the Texans on his back and lead them... and that's exactly what he would need to do here if they give away the house to get him.

I can't believe anybody is saying no to this hypothetical. I can't tell if people are delusional about Watt's value or they just have no clue how good Watson really is. The latter shouldn't happen.
