Would you still love the Steelers IF...

    ...they ever left Pittsburgh?

Not that it will ever happen, but there are 3 teams currently considering relocation to LA this year, so I thought it would be a good topic for SteelerNation. What say ye?

If that ever happened, I would be done with pro football. Nothing, nada, zilch. What the Godfather said "your dead to me now."

Yep, thats what I was going to say, I dont live there anyway :lolol:

The name change would be weird but the organization would remain the same.

I'll always love the Steelers, but if they moved from Pittsburgh I'd be devastated. Just wouldn't be right.

Now if they're going to move make it to St. Louis!

I think the Maynardville Steelers has a really good ring to it.

If the Steelers ever moved from Pittsburgh, it just wouldn't be the same, so I dunno... As much as I love the Pirates and would never want to see it, you could take them and the Pens out of Pittsburgh, but not the Steelers. The Steelers ARE Pittsburgh.

My saying is basically "If the Steelers ain't playing, I ain't watching..." and if they move, then they aren't the Steelers to me anymore. So... this.

I guess it depends on the circumstances though I can't see any unless the Rooney's sell the team.

I think so. It would take some getting used to- especially if another team moved here.
I may have to move with them

Didnt the Rooneys make a comment years ago when petitioning for the new stadium that if they didnt get the new stadium they wouldnt be able to compete and they would have to move the team?
    Then poof, new stadium.

I disagree. If they leave Pittsburgh, they are no longer the same organization. It's a completely different organization. I would likely always have a soft spot for the team, but they wouldn't be my team anymore. My team is the Pittsburgh Steelers, not the LA Botox's.

I don't remember, but if they did, it was likely an empty threat. To get what you want, sometimes you have to engage in some tough talk. That's likely all it was. Unless things got really bad, the Rooney's will never move this team and the city of Pittsburgh will never let things get that bad.

It would have to be a move to somewhere that was formerly defined by its steel industry, or the name just wouldn't make sense...

Exactly. This was proven when the Browns moved to Baltimore. The Baltimore Browns soon became the Ravens and it wasn't long before the organization didn't resemble the one that left Cleveland. And the "new" Browns that we have today have have never quite been what the old Browns were either.
