Isaac Redman is not a quality NFL RB. I don't care what line he's running behind.

He is NFL quality. He's just not very good quality. "NFL quality" doesn't equate to 2,000 yard rushers only.

Redman is what he's always been: a better than average back up. For some reason, like many of our players, he's not being used to his strengths.

So then, what are his strengths? Seems to me his weaknesses are taking it outside, hitting the holes, and holding on to the ball.

Sounds like Bell is progressing nicely. NFL Network is reporting that he was a full practice participant for the second day in a row and is listed as questionable for Sunday.

No way. Good running back. Coming here would not help this team.

Oline needs to get better before anything happens

I'd agree the Steelers shouldn't part with a #1 for Richardson, at least as long as Bell has potential. But I can certainly see why the Colts would.

Do the Steelers have the BALLS to pull off a BETTIS type trade? Who on our current roster is untouchable? I saw where some posters mentioned Larry Fitz/ Shady. Do you think these guys would energize a fan base? LOL Especially here in the STEEL CITY
where they ARE ROCK STARS ALL READY.

They have the balls but probably not the money. The cap is still ugly.

What about the Browns perspective on this trade, who could we trade for a first round pick next year?

There's not a single player on our roster that would fetch a 1st round pick

    Hmmmm.... Interesting thought.

Could you get a #1 for an aging Ben or Troy? Probably not.
For Pouncey? Not until you see how his knee is.
    Timmons? I doubt it.
Woodley? Fans would drive him to the airport to get him out of town faster in exchange for a first rounder .
Can't think of anyone else where the answer isn't obviously "No"

Ben, JJ, Timmons, Pouncey (pre-injury for sure) and maybe Woodley are 1st round pick/trade candidates to the right team IMO.

There's no chance in hell a team would give up a 1st for those guys, especially when salary is taken into account. Teams generally don't give up 1st round picks for anything but to move up in the draft. What we saw Cleveland and Oakland do (Carson Palmer trade) are rarities in the NFL. We don't have a player with the hype or pedigree of Trent Richardson, especially one with such a low cap hit.

The Oakland Raiders have a ton of cap space next year and have shown the propensity to make those types of trades. I think you call Minnesota and offer #7 for their 1st rd pick next year and you'd have a deal pretty quickly. Maurkice Pouncey has how many pro bowls in how many years? That's value that can be quantified in the NFL. Make no mistake, he's more valued throughout the league than he is in Pittsburgh by the fans. Jarvis Jones is a no-brainer and you could most certainly get a 1st rounder from someone. I think we do have those players worthy of a 1st round pick but it's the core of the team and I'm not ready for the Steelers to pack it in yet.

Totally agree, especially for Ben. The Colts just gave up a #1 for a RB for crying out loud. A team like the Jags or some other QB starved franchise, absolutely they'd do it.

Why would a team like the Jags (or even the Vikes as posted earlier) give up a #1 for a 31 yr old QB who's been beat up, when they can use that pick to get a young one? It ain't like Ben would be the difference that make those teams SB contenders.

Yeah right, he's 31 not 41 and plenty capable of leading a team to a SB. You guys are funny, think it's so easy finding a franchise QB. These great QB's come in waves, class of 83, 2004, 2011 and sprinkle in the Peytons, Bradys and kaepernick's. They don't grow on trees, pretty hard finding the right guy.

You miss the point. Say the Jags give up their #1 for Ben, and you suggest they'd be eager to do that. They are probably 2 yrs minimum from contending. At that point, they have a yet an older QB, beat up even more after two years them, who may well be done or close to it, making $15MM/yr.

You're right getting franchise QB ain't easy, and there's a good chance the 2016 Jags wouldn't have one if they trade a #1 for Ben.

They got plenty of other needs, where the first round pick would address. If I were a Jags fan, I'd rather they do that.

I think there are a number of teams who would trade for Ben. Last year Vikings were a playoff team, a better QB makes them a Superbowl contender.

then there are the Browns, they can't draft a QB that they aren't ready to give up on by the end of their rookie season, they have extra picks, immediately they will be better.

Having said that, Steelers will not trade Ben mid season, he is not Bernie Kosar.
