He's been rumored to be a candidate to coach this team or that for the past few years, but the whispers seem to ebb and flow. I was under the impression that he doesn't plan to come back to coaching.

I'd be very surprised too if he comes back, he seems real comfortable where he is now. Being an NFL coach is a serious grind, not sure what college coaching is like but I think they put in crazy hours too.

i think college coaches spend the majority of their time recruiting more so than actually coaching since they are very limited on how much time they can actually practice their players. they only get like 17 hours a week i believe.

could you imagine Cowher coming to your house to recruit your kid. just spitting all over the place with that chin sticking out. that would be awesome.

Down here in Knoxville all the Vol fans have talked about Cowher for years. Now the big flavor of the week is Jon Gruden. I don't see him leaving MNF to come to Knoxville if he has any brains at all.

I hope Cowher comes back to the NFL. I miss not seeing him on the sidelines.

I don't believe in second teams, but I would definitely follow whatever team he coaches a bit closer.

I think he would only coach for his alma mater though if it was college.

I wonder if he would ever come back and coach Pitt college program at all though?

Gruden will be an NFL coach again but Cowher won't be spitting on his players and refs ever again.

I tend to agree. I think Cowher's gotten soft after a few years in the studio.

I am not so sure about college, But I can see the Hunt's paying him and
Omar Kahn a zillion dollars to right the franchise in KC.

I think Cowher was an excellent NFL coach.

I think today Cowher would be a terrible college coach. First, I can't see Bill sitting in some 17-yr olds living room, kissing his behind to come play for him. I can't imagine Cowher would enjoy that for even a second. Second, college football today is a track meet, is there a coach who's style is less suitable to todays college game that Bill Cowher? Finally, I really wonder if Cowher wants to coach again. He's been out of football now 6 yrs, and he hasn't shown anything more than the most passing of interest in any job he's been mentioned. Maybe, he waiting for the perfect opportunity, but as time goes on he becomes less/less of a 'hot' commodity, and it's less likely that someone will through buckets of money at him.
