Hey Vox Ferrum. Happy New Year my friend. You may have seen on here my referral to JuJu, Washington and Johnson as my Formidable #2s in regards to their WR abilities/Statuses. I truly believe these three together, on the field, at the same time next year, are going to cause fits for Defenses. They are each very good but none are a True #1 NFL caliber receiver. JuJu was last year due in part to being the beneficiary of AB. However, that is okay as they say there is strength in numbers. Line up all three with a solid pass-catching RB and a solid TE and I say "Watch Out".

I know they had their injuries and an on-going maturation process to go through this year. Given that, and the ideal scenario of them with the RB, the TE and hopefully the OL can find themselves, and again I say "Watch Out". I think we can develop something special here. Just a little patience everyone. You can see the abilities in each of these WRs. I like what I see.

Now, the $64,000 question: "Who is going to throw the "Rock" to them?" I am counting on Ben. If not him then Mason. I like what I saw from Mason up until the Browns' game. What I did like after that is he seemed to have rebounded in the Jets game and maybe he just needed that little respite time to "regroup". It is to bad that he did not play in the season finale as he got hurt in that Jets game. I posted his stats somewhere here and I think he went: 14/20, 129 Yards, 1 TD, 0 picks, 104 PR. Rookie Ben-Like Numbers. Did enough until he got hurt and probably would have led us to a victory. I see the glass half-full with Mason. Duck I am not to sure about.

Bush didn't disappear. He did his job as a run defender the second half of the season. The next step is to make more big plays.

You keep assuming the Steelers could have traded up, which you can't prove. It's just you talking out of the wrong end of your anatomy. I didn't like the Johnson pick at the time, but unlike you, I can admit I was wrong. The Brown comparisons are still ridiculous, but Tomlin compared him to Emmanuel Sanders. That I can see, including the occasional issue with ball security. Johnson needs to get stronger. That will help him in many areas, including holding on to the ball.

Gilbert flashed some real potential. I hope he gets more of a shot in 2020.

Aside from special teams, this was basically a redshirt for Layne. It is too early to make a judgement on him. Buggs looks like a solid reserve on the defensive line, something the team needed. Not every good draft pick is going to be exciting.

Overall, I like the draft a little better than I did in April due to the play of Johnson. It certainly isn't as bad as you made it out to be.

You forgot Bennie Snell, who had a very solid rookie season.

To me Snell is someone I really hope to see more of. For the season he averaged 3.7 YPC, in games with 16 or more carries his average was near 4 or above in 4 out of 5x, the game against the Cards was only 2.6. I am not going to attempt a breakdown of D's he faced vs. other RB's. The metrics are just diverse and let's face it our O was often facing stacked D's because of our ineffective passing game. The top 10 runners in the league (not including Lamar Jackson) averaged between 4.1 to 5 YPC getting 18 to 20 carries per game.

At the end of the year Benny was playing much faster and I believe hindered by the running back by committee we employed. While handing the ball off to a back 25 to 30x a game is gone, Benny is the type of guy who needs the ball consistently and often. Just wonder how he performance would improve with a decent QB and occasional lead blocking FB.

The Steelers got production from 3 rookies, I would call that a good draft.

Just curious, who did DK have throwing him the ball? Was it by chance a guy who has earned a contract as the league’s highest paid player? Who did DJ have throwing him the ball? Hmmm...

I get your point but DK is a beast. What I’m impressed by is he’s already successful on routes many scouts said he couldn’t run. Once he gets better at that ,he will be almost impossible to defend especially with RW throwing him the ball. There were concerns about his route running and I believe possibly his attitude. He is proving the route running knock was overblown and they are gushing about his personality and attitude. The skies the limit if his attitude is on point....

Time will tell, but there’s no assurance that he will be better than DJ in the long run, AND we couldn’t have drafted him without trading up for a second time. I think we struck gold with DJ as a 3rd round pick, and with a quality QB throwing him the ball he may be special.

As an Eagle hater I fell in love with DK last Sunday and I won't have any problems with him until 4 years from now when STEELERS have to play that NFC Division again. Unless of course we have a re-match in the SB:)

Not trying to take away from DK’s exhibition last weekend but the eagles have no corners and nobody to match up with him. Everyone is injured there.

I do like him though, great player in the making and he will be a nightmare for defenders with his size and speed, and one of the very best throwing him the ball.

I’m not knocking DJ or comparing the two I’m just saying he’s already proving the critics wrong about his route running and he has a very bright future.
