    In what category???? Most suspended.
Most injured when needed in the playoffs. Only category He ever led in was scrimmage yards. That in no freaking way makes Him the best. It'd be like saying a Kicker who leads the league in points is the MVP. The man never led in anything....not tds, not yards, not yards per carry. Do you know what???....when He was suspended....the guy that took His place actually was the leading RB in yards while L. Bell was gone.

LOL. Ok man. Please share with me how you know what I hope for. I do not believe this team as constituted for a championship run. I see nothing that would lead me to believe that will change. Chasing high draft picks does not lead to success necessarily. So there ya go Sigmund. Now you know

Your suggestions needed some work. There is nothing the Steelers can do about getting a team to offer up a huge package for Tomlin. It is going to be a rare instance when a team would trade for a head coach. If they start putting out feelers, that suggests that Tomlin isn't long for the team, which reduces his value.

This is an awful take. Le'Veon Bell was the best RB in the league from 2014-2017, and its hard to argue otherwise. He missed 10 games to a knee injury in 2015 (sadly, I was at that game vs the Bengals) and 4 games to suspension in 2016 (never said he wasn't an absolute idiot). Too bad he is an idiot and cost himself the last few years of his prime. Could've been a HoFer, but listened to some bad advice and torpedoed his own career.

    1. The guy who gained the most yards in the NFL with the ball in his hands is a pretty good reason to think he's the best at his position
    2. He doesn't have to lead the league in yards in a single season to be the best back.
    - In 2014 he was 2nd, in 2016 he was 5th (missing 4 games) and had the 2nd most yards per game at the position rushing, and in 2017 he was 3rd. That's just rushing alone.
    3. Part of a running back's job is to catch out of the backfield and he was the best at it by a lot.
    - in 2014 alone, he was the 40th best receiving threat based on yards in the whole league (WR,TE, RB) only 6 TE's and 33 WR's outgained him.

Le'Veon Bell was the most dangerous RB in the league from 2014-2017 before he willfully ended his own career. He was the most consistent rusher (there were individual seasons that outshined him, but he was the only one that was consistently top 3 in rushing alone during that span), and the best receiver out of the backfield. He was not just the top RB, he was one of the top offensive players in the whole league during that span. Truly a unique player. Between him, Ben, Bell.... those offenses are sorely missed when we see the state of the offense today

I disagree to some extent. The roster is good, not great, but good.

It's COACHING where we need a full rebuild and have been stuck in purgatory for almost 10 years. I just don't get what Rooney and Co see that we don't? Maybe Tomlin is just too funny around the office and they don't want to lose the jokes? Maybe Rooney is TOO married to "only" 3 coaches in 50 years crap. It's cool, I get it, but means nothing if we're the running joke of the dozen or less proud NFL franchises (which we currently are).

    Easy
Getting outgained in yards. Looking like the worst of two teams on the field.

Yeah, I get it, a win is a win.

I don't get it though, when we know these ill-gained wins will lead us to yet another playoff beatdown. We have Mike Tomlin. We KNOW we'll be out-coached, out-x and o'd and out-classed by any other playoff team.

Does anyone on this board think they can beat another playoff team when it gets REAL in December? I sure don't. Maybe one of these years (decades) I'll have to eat crow when the Steelers knock off the 3rd seed on the road. Most likely it will be a divsion winner that had a 9-8 record in the worst division in football, but thats about the only way with this coaching staff and ringleader.

Well that sucks for all of us Steelers fans, but sadly it would have to happen I guess. I just hope its a ONE YEAR prove it extension if it comes to that so we can send him packing next off-season...post-haste.

My fault isn't the current record, but the big picture...it hasn't changed.

Running Mike Tomlin out there every week and expecting positive playoff results at the end of the season is like basing your retirement on a single lottery quickpick. Hello Ramen Noodle diet.

The below note says it all. Impossible sustainability, especially against playoff teams:

The Pittsburgh Steelers offense hit yet another scary mark this week as they defeated the Tennessee Titans and improved to 5-3 on the year.

According to Elias Sports Bureau, the 2023 Steelers became just the 34th team in NFL history to be out-gained by each of their opponents in their first eight games of the season. However, they are just the first of those 34 teams to have a winning record in the process.

Don't forget he was also great at picking up the blitz. He was the complete package at running back.

Yep he was an incredible talent that will probably be featured on a future “Where are they now?” Segment instead of being considered as one of the Steelers greatest ever. He and AB really thought they were bigger than the game itself.

I can't picture any team in the league going into a season with a lame duck coty, especially the Steelers.

I already explained how Yours was a bad take. Example Kicker J. Myers had the most points scored last year in the NFL. Should He be considered the best player in the NFL???
Yes Bell was used a lot....so of course he had a lot of yards, but He never led in any RB category.....never.
Tell me this .....if He was so awesome....how come He never led in rushing.....yet during His suspension the RB that was playing in his place was leading in rushing??? He was a very good Rb, but never once the best in the league. Like the RB that did lead the league rush while He was out said when asked how He was doing so well.....I'm not the main focus of the D in this offense.....he also later said.... wait until L. Bell becomes the main focus of the D with the Jets, and You will really see how good He is.

He could have been 2nd some years , and 3rd , or 4th some years. I will agree with that, but He was never the best like some Steelers fans will say. Just like , and I'm a Huge fan....Ben was never the best Qb in the league. He was the best in some games, and at times when needed, but like L. Bell....He was never the best in the league.

Let's see what happens with Matt Canada on sidelines. Let's see if Coach Tomlin hits the magical no losing season again. Before we get all Hasty to let him go win a Superbowl for another team.

Man you need to get over yourself. I'm glad you found it funny!!! LOL I did NOT go out on a limb. Your arrogance claiming to know what is in people's mind. So if I were you I would simply put me on ignore. That way you won't find what I say humorous.

No, but that kicker would have a pretty good case to be considered the best kicker? In the same light that the RB with the most TD's would have a case to be called the best RB? There's more to it than that, but this argument is a weird strawman fallacy that holds no weight in the conversation.

    1. Bell did lead the NFL in RB categories. Receiving is part of a RB's job description whether you like it or not. Its just a fact. He led the league in receptions from the RB position multiple years, receiving yards from the RB position multiple years, and total yards from the RB position. All while being a top 2-3 RB in just rushing yards at the same time as well.
    a. He was elite in every RB category, and on top of it was an excellent blocker and pass protector when needed.

    2. We already mentioned the original strawman, but where did you get the second point? Which season was Bell suspended and his replacement was the NFL's leading rusher? This simply isn't true.
    a. In 2016 Bell was suspended 3 games and in those games DeAngelo Williams gained 258 yards. I only had to look at the first player on the rushing list to show this wasn't true as Ezekiel Elliott outgained him in those weeks.
    b. In 2015 during his injury, DeAngelo Williams was the 10th leading rusher in Bell's absence. This would have been 4th in rushing ypg looking only at his starts. Good numbers, just below Bell.
    c. If we are talking about his hold out year Conner rushed for 11th most yards and 8th most ypg. Solid numbers, but far from being as good as Bell's numbers previously.
    d. The main point is, every time Bell was replaced (via suspension, injury, and hold out) he was replaced with a player that was a worse RB purely in rushing. Not to even mention what we lost in the receiving part of the game.

    3. I thought what people do on other teams doesn't concern you? Like how Trubisky's Bears stats don't matter, but Bell's Jets stats do? You've got to be consistent here if you want me to take this argument seriously.
    a. Coming off a hold out year and not being in shape didn't help. DeShaun Watson can attest to how hard it is to take time off and come back as good as you were. Also playing for the Jets certainly didn't help too of course.

    4. Bell was the best NFL RB from 2014-2017. The best.
