    Don't be drinking that early:)

Please tell me after tomorrow it's just like the NCAA sweet 16. You win you move on you lose your out. I think at this point games have to have a winner so they do penalty kicks if tied at end of regulation.

90 minutes of play and two 15 minute overtime periods if needed. If still tied after the two overtime periods then it goes to penalty kicks.

And Brazil moves on to 16 after losing. Still get a kick out of how that works.

Now the normal stuff as far as winning and losing. No idea who the best players are or which team is favored but from just watching I'd guess France or Brazil will be one of the finalist.

For poop and giggles: The elite 8 will be: USA / Argentina / France / England / Japan / Brazil / Spain / Portugal.

USA is a homer pick. Have no idea if they are good enough.

Cameroon did pretty well. Better than I realistically expected. 1-0 over Brazil. Too bad they don't move on.

Getting outclassed. Pulisic had to score that early sitter for us to have a chance. Game would’ve been 100% different. It’s over now.

It's strange. Earlier this year, I'd say getting passed the group stage and to the knockout stage equals a win for the USMNT. It's really how they played in the group stage and yesterday that wasn't great. Even qualifying they pretty much did bare minimum. Either play for ties or 1 goal leads and call it a day to play defense. The team lacked a killer instinct and lacked a quality goal scorer. They're a team full of B+ players and may just be their long-term potential. The US gameplan kinda just played into the Dutch hands. US dominated possession time and got counterpunched. US didn't score despite owning possession time and the Dutch scored on their goals.

The squad has a lot of growing up to do these next four years. The U19, and U17 teams had success in Europe these past couple of weeks, so there's definitely more talent in the pipeline. So, even though this team is very young, not a single guy's spot is safe for the 2026 team, including Pulisic.

Their back line did not play well on the Dutch counter and they definitely need to finish better. I thought they tried to make the extra pass too many times inside the 18 and should have taken more shots from outside. The Dutch back line did an excellent job of cutting off the through balls and crosses. Pulisic did not do a great job with his corners and the US just couldn't get a guy in position to get a head on the ball. Have to score more on those set pieces.
I do think they played well in the midfield, maintaining possession and working the ball up the wings. They just have to finish better. They definitely have some things to clean up but there's a solid team to start with for sure.

That was a great game between Morocco and Spain. Thought Spain would win and so did announcers but the Morocco defense compares to the 76 Steelers D. Then their goalie (cocky and I dig him) never let in a penalty kick. Stopped 3 straight. While Morocco penalty kickers just aimed at the center because the goalie always is guessing left or right.

After the Dutch beat the US, I was kind of pulling for them but I root for Argentina as well so win-win.

Yeah for Africa. Morocco first African nation to reach semi-finals. Big win for me because I hate Portugal. In 1976 they did not like Americans and when my ship docked there they spit at it and such. Needless to say we did not get shore leave there. I was pissed cause their females sure look fine:)

Now I sure remember the Morocco hash from the 70's so I'm all in for them to win it all.

Hell of a game England/France. I was 100 sure England would have tied it on that penalty kick.

It seems to me that they don't use instant replay enough. I think they need another ref on the field. A lot of those guys going down in what looks like excruciating pain barely got touched when I see the replay.

    LETS GO MOROCCO (hash)

Kind of proud that doesn't happen in American cities after a Championship.
