Going to be a tough table to reach the knockout stage... LFG

 

Way excited for this Cup but you're right, they are in tough group. Sucks that the game times are during work hours.

 

Cameroon! Cameroon! I always root for them, until they get knocked out. Then, it's the next small country. Last time, I was a big Iceland fan.

 

That's funny. Back in the 90's I used to play this Sega soccer game. Cameroon was the lowest rated team. Argentina was the best. Obviously i played as them.

I pull for all of the Scandinavian countries. Been over there visiting a couple of times.

 

I was in the Mexican interior the year Mexico hosted the World Cup. That was my first experience with World Cup madness. Those people are nuts! I ended up rooting for Germany in that tournament. Of course, that was the infamous "Hand of God" final. After that, i figured I'd root only for underdogs to win! Hasn't worked yet.

 

I'll only root for USA and Ireland. If neither are in it, I just watch the games with no real rooting interest. I think the best Team USA teams will be in future WC's. Likely won't result in a WC Gold ever. But 2030 could be an interesting year and 2026 being magical with the US/Mexico/Canada hosting it. We're sending more and more teens to Europe. Whether or not it'll be fruitful remains to be seen.

 

Great win for us today, 6-2 was flattering for Iran. Good luck against Wales. Will be a tough game, for the size of the country Wales are pretty talented. Can't wait for England v USA on friday, let's be having yah!

I was working in Honduras a couple decades back. My first night in the country they beat Mexico in futbol. I swear it sounded like ww3 broke out. That was a crazy celebration to say the least

The USA foul in the penalty area was more stupid than the mistakes Steelers seem to make.

 

Didn't get to see the play yet. Was listening on the radio at work.

 

Really looked like something out of Pat Narduzzi's playbook. Let's dominate, gets uberconservative and commit a really stupid penalty that costs us a game. They don't call it Pitting for nothing. This game just feels like a loss.

 

Argentina got two goals wiped away due to being offsides... Argentina is so obvious in its cherry picking efforts. It's tremendous.

Edit: Make that three goals wiped away. should be 4-0 heading into halftime, not 1-0.

 

Was just trying to catch a little of that game while getting ready for work. The times of these games really suck. At least they're trying to get the US game times where people here can actually watch.

 

Yea, Qatar and the west coast is a 11hr time difference. The USA games are starting at 2200 Qatar time so we can see it at a reasonable time.

 

Saudi Arabia ties it at 1. Only if Argentina wasn't cherry picking earlier that goal wouldn't matter as much. Giving teams too many chances will end up killing you in the end.

 

Saudi Arabia up 2-1 in the 54th minute.... Argentina is in trouble.

Tunisia is playing Denmark hard right now. May want to put Denmark on upset alert as we're heading towards halftime.

 

Looks to me like teams like Sweden, Norway, Ireland, Italy, among others did not even qualify for the cup this year.

 

Absolutely loved watching the Germans get embarrassed again. Never gets old.
