I'm going by what Mr Rooney said about certain players needing to be in better shape and get pressure on the qb. Look at him compared to the rest of our lbers no way he should be at 290 pounds.

This is a "what have you done for me lately" league and Woodley has done zip recently.. I really could care less if we go odd (3-4) or even (4-3) front, just get some talented pass-rushers..

Hello. IMHO, In the last two seasons, for the money he is making, he IS worthless. You could put ANY linebacker making the league minimum in his spot and get the same production. Do you actually watch him during the game? All he does is stay engaged with the guy blocking him most of the time. You point to his injuries as the cause of his sub par performance. That's funny because as soon as he signed that big contract he start playing like he didn't want to get hurt. How much is he making, 6-7, 8 mill a year, are you kidding me. He isn't the first player to lay down after signing a big contract and he won't be the last.

What a lazy piece of ****. Your owner, coach, and a world renowned trainer call you out but you aren't going to change but instead give a smart ass answer. I hope the Steelers trade his lazy social media addicted ass. He hasn't done a damn thing since getting paid. Wow 36 tackles 4 sacks and a int for 10 mill a year yeah that's well worth it.

The part that disappoints me is that (according to the earlier article) Shaw said he noticed a flaw in Woodley's technique (over striding) that puts more strain on his hamstrings. Part of his offer was to optimize the way Woodley rushes at the QB.

Yea I read this too. Kinda saddening. He points out that he only missed one game because of his hamstring but his high ankle sprain is what caused him to miss games. I'm a woodley fan, and he has the potential to be great, but so does every football player coming into the NFL. Its what you do with that potential. Hopefully we draft some stud OLB who shows him up, hopefully it motivates him to get better and train harder. Woodley needs to realize that this is a "what have you done for me lately" kind of league, and he hasn't done much lately.

I didn't have a problem with what he said.
He just was pointing out that his injury wasn't what Shaw called him out on and maybe people need to stop spouting off about stuff the really have no real knowledge of. I guess Shaw got a copy of his medical records from the Steelers before he opened his big mouth right? Or did he just base his comments on what he hears from the talking heads in the sports media, kinda like people here do? I do think he could benifit from something different than what he's been doing. I think calling him a lazy piece of **** is bull, but hey whatever makes you feel like you know better than him what's best for him.

So Rooney and tomlin don't know. Shaw looks at tape and like a few people have said now its more about the way Woodley runs. I'm sorry but his production isn't there. His frickin back up had a better year then him. Somebody may need to tell him he plays for the Steelers and if you don't show up youre going to get ripped. If he has a problem with what people say on facebook and Twitter either change something or get off social media.

The question is ,why wouldn't you want to try something different especially when your own teammate swear by the guy? Is he worried about the cost? The fact of the matter is I don't care if he trains with Richard Simmons he needs to come in shape and ready to start earning that FAT contract. The Steeler made a commitment to him ,it's time he does the same.

No problem. Another thing, What was the purpose of Shaw calling him out in public? He could have easily called him up and offered his services. Was he seeking publicity or just being an Ass? Why in the world would Woodley want to go train with him after that? Plenty of other good trainers out there, not like he's in big trouble if he doesn't train with Shaw!

Shaw never said Woodley was out of shape he said either he is running wrong or conditioning his hamstrings the wrong way. He really talked more about the way he runs saying he should never have to hit full stride. I'm a huge Shaw fan and for those that don't know his training is positions specific. He doesn't have lbers working out with corner since they use different parts of the body. Also I had a problem with is him saying if anybody on facebook or Twitter can tell him how not to sprain an ankle. My feelings are if you are a social media whore then you have to expect criticism. If yinz are ok with a 290 pound olb who doesn't produce and is out of shape making 10 million a year when we are always against the cap then great but not me. Everyone jumped all over Timmons when he had a down year last year when he switched back and forth between olb and ilb but Woodley gets a pass I don't think so. At least Timmons had a legitimate excuse. I'm getting the out of shape part from what tomlin, Colbert, and Rooney have said. If you can honestly look at woods last two years and say he has lived up to his contract please show me how.

Him and Mendy need to be moved, its really that simple.
I have watched him far too much to see the man does not take his
profession seriously. Here is your chance Steelers, to re energize your
franchise. PULL THE TRIGGER ON HIM NOW.

    Agreed

His position requires intense physicality and play quality i didn't see this from the 10 million dollar man in 2012 If he don't want to improve on self-performance so be it. Next up!!

Again, if Shaw wanted to help he could have given him a call instead of putting him on the spot. If Tomlin or Rooney want to call kim out that's a different story.
Yes he has not lived up to his contract this past season, I'm sure injuries were a big part and it would seem that his conditioning may be an issue too. Problem is we really don't know all the details, just what the media and Antonio Brown's dad reports and how much of that is true. My biggest issue with any of this is people calling him names like "worthless" or " piece of s**t".
