Imagine if somehow our first playoff game is against the Browns, and Bengals cut Flacco on Thursday of that week, and Browns pick him on Friday of that week and Flacco destroys us again the day after in an early Saturday game?

That would be pretty freaking epic.

Bills got beat last week by the Falcons ,who two weeks earlier got shut out 30-0 by the Panthers. LoL. Are the Bills done??
Another example: remember when we couldn't beat the Patriots, but they couldn't beat the Jets, and the Jets couldn't beat us, which led to a SB for us.
It's all about matchups.
I'm not excusing the loss. I'm only pointing out the reality of football, and other sports. Also a short week , away , is the worst thing for a older team.

The defense was supposed to be the strength of this team. They kept talking about how the offseason moves were designed to deal with Burrow & Co. And yet Burrow didn't even play.

Highly disappointing that the Steelers lost because of that supposed 'strength'.

The reason Tomlin has never won on Thursday nights is because a short week requires intense, concentrated, insightful game planning and coaching.

That said, the times they were aggressive didn't go any better. I understand the Bengals avoiding pressure by throwing the ball quickly. I do not understand allowing the league's worst rushing attack to gouge them for 142 yards. That sparked the Bengals offense. It also helped mitigate the pass rush. it shouldn't have happened.

I agree. It was the 142 rushing yards that killed us. The Bengals had 20 more offensive snaps due to our defense couldn't get off the field. Chase and Higgins are bad matchups for most everyone already. Add in not stopping the run and we doomed ourselves.
