wk. 1 postgame observations

overall:
before this game, if anyone told me that we would take a 27-3 lead into the half and pull out a last second win, I would've told them to sleep it off, or just say no to drugs..... I don't remember the last time I went through such a range of emotions in one game (that tie against the falcons yrs. ago comes close)..... even though we won, this game felt like a loss......... the only way this changes is if the players feel the same way.... that said, i'm still optimistic about the season
now on to the individual thoughts

offense:
1. great job leveon bell.. I think he's primed for a monster yr.
2. Antonio (qui chang) brown had a monster 1st half :matrix:.... uuuummmm, 2nd half??
3. I hate the way we take our foot off the gas petal when we have a big lead..... how many teams have to turn blowouts into close games or losses for the coaches to get the message
4. we have found our #2 receiver

defense:
1. this is not the same ike taylor that used to shut down one side of the field... this is an old man with diminishing skills that needs to be replaced....... I shudder to think what would've happened if josh Gordon was playing
2. our run defense is killing me
3. ryan shazier will have a great yr., but as we all know (or should know), he will also have his growing pains
4. cam heyward is a beast when he plays with an attitude and needs to do it more consistently
special teams:
1. shaun suisham was money
2. we still lack discipline, although the coverage team did well

 

All of the above. Shout out to Wing also. And Golden. The cajones on that special teams pass.
