Jackson doesn' really fit what we do on offense.

    We have pieces.

Jackson needs to go to a team where the offense will be built around him. Like Mike Vick.

So what, there will be other safeties available other than Fitzpatrick. You don't mortgage your future for a safety , maybe for a stud QB.

He’s conveniently forgetting about Taylor. Yes, he had hands of stone, but he consistently shut down #1 wide receivers for years.

    Kamara 120 att 729 yds, 81 rec 826 yds
    McCaffery 117 att 435 yds, 80 rec 651 yds

Pretty close to the same playing time Kamara just has better stats, both split time. As far as hitting on prospects later in the draft it is hard no matter what position. I mean Byard was a 3rd rounder and so was Simmons in the 16 draft. I will say this I feel prospects are getting coached better and are becoming more pro ready coming out of college leading to more later draft picks becoming starters or contributors. jmo

I really believe it is way to early to mock anything. I remember last year Moreau was mocked as a 3rd rounder then lit it up at the shrine game and all the mocks had him as a first rounder and then he got hurt and fell back to a third rounder.

I watch bama every week. Evans is great. Fills a need but i think this draft is deeper at linebacker. Safety isnt. Harrison is a stud. Fitz gets alot of pub and rightfully so. He couldnt do all he does without harrison back there. Ronnie is a plug in day one starter and immediate upgrade. Homerun pick

Seen some really dumb ones. QB in the first, OLB 2nd and RB 3rd.

No ILB or safety in the first 3 picks

Besides QB in the first now, that might not be that far off. Depends what happens with Bell. We actually have 1rb under contract and he just had knee surgery. There is some good value at safety and ilb later than the first three RDS.. This will be an interesting draft to say the least.

Id say it easier finding a RB later rds then safety. How long have they been playing that game now. With their evaluating, it just gets harder finding them the later it gets in the draft.

let alone leaving it to C. Lake with developing a late rounder, haven't seen it yet.

IDK, people act like we have been missing on draft picks at safety but since 2010 we have only drafted 3. Thomas in the 4th of 2013, Holliman(;)) in the 7th of 2015 and Davis in the 2nd of 2106.

Also FWIW 6 RB's in that time frame.....

So in your opinion a QB is the only position you mortgage a future for?

Yes, certainly not for a safety.

Assuming "the guy" is there, yes.

It is not called the "most important position in professional based team sports" for nothing.
