Well I'm finally about to be a little less wise. I have to get my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow and I was just curious if any of you guys have had yours removed and I'm wondering sorta what I should expect. I figure I'm not gonna get to really enjoy Game 2 because of this but if we look like we did in game one that might actually be a good thing. LOL!

I had mine taken out (on one side) during college, and it just happened to be the day before Thanksgiving! (I had it done during the break, and that was the only day they could schedule).

The procedure itself wasn't that bad. I was numbed and gassed and didn't feel anything. My mouth was pretty sore for awhile, but the pain meds they gave me really did help, and I have a pretty high tolerance for medicine, so I was surprised how effective the meds were for me.

Other than that, it really wasn't that bad. Since it was only on one side, I was able to eat on Thanksgiving, but it was a little uncomfortable and it was annoying to have to keep chewing on one side.

I wish you would have! Hope your mouth is feeling better. I recall (barely) when I had mine done. They went ahead and took out all 4 at once. I remember the drugs were pretty good!

Man honestly this has been a miserable experience! They were "impacted" and my mouth is literally swollen all the way down to my neck and collarbone! The swelling on the left side has mostly went down but the right side still looks like a dang watermelon. I just don't know what in the crap to do to get it to go down.

Well my wife told me today that I acted "pitiful" after the surgery and I have no recollection whatsoever about the things she said I was doing. BUT one good thing is that when I woke up out of surgery I was trying to tell anyone that would listen that "THE STEELERS ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL AND WE'RE GONNA WIN NUMBER 7 THIS YEAR!" and that I was EXTREMELY adamant about it! LOL!!! I hope I had a vision when I was under the meds or something!

If the swelling doesn't go down after 4 hours, call your Doctor immediately. Oh wait....that was for something else.

Here we go again - another documented case that inter-relates drug use with the Steelers. When will it stop?????????

Putting all seriousness aside - hope you're doing better soon my friend - sounds like torture or even worse yet, like watching the Steelers in pre-season! I wish someone had drugged me these last two games.

How you doing BFT? Just seeing this. Had one side done, top and bottom about 6 years ago. The bottom one was hard to get out and the roots were close to the nerve. Recovery was miserable, finished off the entire bottle of vicodin. Did the other side few years ago, easy peezy, no vicodin and barely took advil.

Had a TERRIBLE time! It was fine on the left side for the most part but horrrrible on the right side. They were impacted and they had to cut tendons and nerves. I couldn't get the swelling down and finally went back and they said it was really hard to get the right side out and that's why I'm having such a hard time. UPS pays 100% but they sent my wife the claim and they actually charged more for how hard they were to get out! I'm still taking antibios and sleeping on a heating pad to get rid of the swelling. The knockout meds made me SUPER sick too. My wife said I was hilarious as a drunk. Lol!

Man, sorry to hear that it's been that bad. Mine was uncomfortable, but not nearly what you're describing.

Thats rough! Took my first time a month to heal, had a hard time getting mine out as well, guy was stepping on my head and yanking the tooth. I was older than you but yours being impacted is why yours is so much worse.

Yeah they said when they're impacted that it's pretty bad. They must have stepped on me like that too because my CHEST was YELLOW! I actually swelled all the way down to my chest and my dang neck bone was hurting! The teeth in the back of my mouth still have this weird sorta "tender" feeling and it has been 12 days. I'll be back at Disneyworld this Thursday until the 10th and I could kill myself for getting them removed this close to vacation. There's so many different restaurants at Disneyworld that I always look forward to eating at and now I feel like I'm not gonna get as much enjoyment out of it because of the tenderness still in my dang jaw.
