They changed it to Dangerfield, pretty much had to be a body language taunt because he wears a pacifier type mouth guard and it was still in after the play

Dont forget juju was speared, he was rubbing his rib cage after he got up, a helmet hit to the stomach can throw any body off their game....

Yeah it was one of those " yeah I showed you "arm flailing type taunts after a 10 yard gain no less. For a second there I thought Mike Mitchell was trying to sneak back on to the team.....

Winners.. Samuels looked great. Stop with the Toussaint bs, he's been given enough opportunities. Conner looks good. Tuitt looked great, need him to do that for a full season. Williams and Edmunds looked good. Fort looked good. Thomas looked good. Need to give Adams, Adeniyi, and Thomas all the looks possible going forward to see what we got. Got to keep at least two of them. Also, give Bucky some looks at TE to see what he's got.

Losers.. Matakevich. Looked good on ST. Him and the Chickillo experience might need to end. Ridley is probably gone and Toussaint is only kept at 4th string/ST. Henderson hasn't really shown anything. Marcus Allen make the team? Haven't seen much from him.

Taunting was actually on dangerfield. Edmunds was out of the game at the time

They really weren’t blitzing at all. Tuitt and Heyward were just steamrolling guys every play. Tuitt threw a spin move on Lewan the one play that was a thing of beauty.

I'm sorry but judging a coordinator (or any coach for that matter) in any way based on a pre season game is maybe the most ridiculous thing I've heard from a fan.

I agree with half of that. Tuitt and Heyward were outstanding, but they did blitz. They seemed to send Williams quite a bit early on, including the first sack.

Have not done this in some time! Let's do this! :herewego:

    Winners:

    Matthew Thomas:

Sure, I could put someone like James Conner, Jaylen Samuels or even Cris Boswell here first, but let us give credit where credit is due. This kid is a diamond in the rough; a very big diamond at that. All he has done since coming to Latrobe is make plays. I was thrilled upon him being a UFDA then and ecstatic regarding his progress now. When you have the team lead in tackles for essentially the "dress rehearsal" and his continued improvement on Special Teams, there is little to reason to believe he not only makes the final 53 but also both Butler and Tomlin could possibly have something in store for him for the ascension.

    Terrell Edmunds:

    2018 Preseason Stats:

    7 Solo Tackles (8 total)

    1 Forced Fumble

    1 Fumble Recovery

    1 Interception

    Two Touchdowns given up

A reach? Hardly. Sure, he still has to deal with those two touchdowns he gave up no doubt, but the rest of the statline is within line of a first round pick; a late first round pick no less. Given the fact he not only possess Free Safety range and Cornerback fluidity but Strong Safety strike power, it appears that Edmunds is catching on faster and faster with each passing day. In time, he will likely supercede Morgan Burnett on the depth chart. Who knows? Given Burnett's inability to stay healthy thus far, that might happen sooner than later.

    Artie Burns:

Has anyone heard his name at all this Preseason? I have only counted two times he has given up passes to his side. That is definitely worthy of being a good corner. Here in lies the question; has Artie Burns truly arrived as a great corner? Time will tell. He will have his chance against Josh Gordon come Week 1.

    Ola Adenyi:

Who else likes this kid? I sure do. Two sacks, a forced fumble and some quality Special Teams work will definitely allow you to crack the final 53. Not only that, he also offers run support capabilities as well thanks to his natural bulk and low center of gravity. Between him and Anthony Chickillo, my money is on Adenyi.

    Stephon Tuitt:

Welcome back Tuitt! Nice to see you back to your disruptive self yet again. Keep it that way throughout the remainder of this season. Pittsburgh will need it for certain.

    Chukwuma Okorafor:

Most people will definitely get him for the hold. Me? I believe that call was very suspect. Even if it was not, while he was getting beat initally, Chuks likely would have won that rep against the opposing pass rusher in the end. Regardless, what is undeinable is his unbelievable development. I would have never crossed my mind he was already entrenched as the primary swing tackle this early. Here we are though, to the end. One more big game. You got this!

    James Conner:

Sure, he was not finding as much running lanes as I would have hoped but what enticed me was his pass catching; lining up in the slot namely. Conner simply continues to improve in one area or another as he has all preseason. I am not entirely sure if he does play the final game. Even if he does not, he has put together quite the audition for 2019.

Now, for winners... there have to be losers...

    Losers:

    Brian Allen:

I had high hopes for him. I still do. Issue his he is still learning the position. He struggled yet again against Tennessee. I am not 100% on how much more paitence Tomlin and Butler will have. What I do know though is that he is still a quality asset on special teams. For what it is worth, that will likely place him on the final 53.

    Jordan Dangerfield:

Getting victimized by a tight end is bad enough. Obtaining a taunting penalty, or channeling his inner Mike Mitchell, is another unforgiving penalty all together. Add Marcus Allen back in the fold and we just may be looking at the battle for the final safety spot on the final 53.

    Tyler Matakevich:

I think it is safe to say that, aside from his special teams abilities, "Dirty Red" does not offer much of anything else defensively. Add the fact the team has an equally competent special teamer in L.J. Fort and it is likely that the coming Thursday will be the "go big or go home" event for Tyler.

That is pretty much it for me. I am certain I have omitted some from the list but the aforementioned are the ones I was looking for today.

I like it. Really like how OA is playing he is looking stout in the run game and already has better hand usage and a plan than Dupree. I wish they would of tried to convert Brian Allen to FS last year. We might be singing a different tune on his development...

That's what I didn't understand. The dude pretty much ran Dangerfield over and he has the stones to taunt the guy? Really? Some of the players these days are just dumb.

I do believe that Brian Allen is leaps and bounds better than his first season. However, he still has some ways to go.

The taunting call was on Dangerfield. He pushed a guy out of bounds then stood over him woofing. MT needs to make him stand there and wear a helmet. Then swing a Louisville slugger as hard as he can and say no more. 37.

One reason I am glad Mitchel is gone is he would make a 3rd down stop then give them a 1st down on a woofing call

On a lot of early down work, Williams was lining up as an OLB with Dupree. That was probably what you were seeing. It was the first time I have even seen Williams at OLB also.

The LB’s were ROLB Williams, RILB Thomas, LILB Bostic and LOLB Dupree.

They used this lineup on a majority of the early down sets. 3rd down, they took Thomas off of the field and out Williams back to the ILB position.

I just think with his speed and size and being a formerWR he is a perfect FS convert...
