I’m never happy when I see anyone with god given talent and well paid for it not give an honest effort

I feel the same about Big Dumb Ben

Obviously you are welcome to have lower standards than me

Ben helped us to win 2 SBs don’t even try and compare him with this clown. Ben could have been better if he put in more work though which hurts.

Cherry picking. Just never mind the 7 game stretch that took us from 4-1 to 10-3. Never happened right? Russ’ 12 TDs and 3 Ints over that 6-1 stretch never happened, right?

First of all, I don’t want Russ back. He’s not a long term answer, and he’ll be a year older next season. But arguing that Fields would have somehow been better during a stretch where the entire team pretty much folded is grounded in no facts based on Fields’ play. Even you acknowledged that going to Russ was the right call after a few weeks when the offense looked much better and put up more points. Yeah, it ended terribly, but the entire team collapsed. Defense. Run game. Pickens missing a few key games (Fields always had Pickens). Everything.

Just because I don't think much of Fields and don't disagree with the narrative some are pushing about Wilson doesn't mean I want him back. I think the Steelers should move on from Wilson, too.

1, maybe 2 plays he didn't. But to try and act like he's doing that more than that, it's ridiculous.

To be honest I'm sure every player we could have a discussion on the failed for a party or two by not playing up to their standards.
    - Harris
    - Watt. He was absent for post season and a month before the end of the season
    - Fitz has had some questions throughout the season
    - pat has been like Fitz
    - Queen I dont even know what his job was.

I could continue to name players that have done less than a job than what George has done. When you want to discuss not loving up to their God giving abilities.

The Raiders are hiring Pete Carroll as their head coach, starting rumors of a reunion of Carroll and Wilson in Vegas.

I wouldn't be too sad to see this happen.... as long as Fields stays and Steelers get another QB in the draft, rounds 4-7.

Listening to sports radio today left me shaking my head at how the differences in NFL ownership play out. I really appreciate an owner who does not stick his head in the GM;s door after every game (or play) and give him instructions, but the frustration grows when the same crap happens year after year, then hearing changes will be made, and nothing is done. A report this week, not an 'insider' source, just observation, on coordinators and coach's who still have a year left on their contracts, so likely are safe. I get that Art is not the richest of owners, but when you settle in and refuse to acknowledge that change is needed, then it's time to retire. Perhaps the only real hope is the mediocrity bump heads south and place last in the division for a couple of years. This is not about firing MT, it is about the Head guy not seeing the league has moved and we are stuck in tradition.

What he did was not worth more than 10-12 million on a 1 or 2 yr deal. IF he wants $15 millin plus, laugh and wish him luck. Someone will give it to him, but with Denver and Pittsburgh, at best he proved inconsistent and serviceable. The Steelers have too many holes to go with serviceable. They have to take shots, aim high, even if they keep missing.

I'd much rather have Aaron Rodgers on a 1 yr deal than Russell Wilson. At least Rodgers would use the whole field. I know most don't want him, but he's no more washed than Russ and was always a better passer and always taller. LOL

That said, draft two rookie Qbs if you have to, one in first 3 rounds and another late or UDFA from a tiny school somewhere.

Fields or Wilson, SHORT-TERM deals only, no more than 2 yrs, preferably 1 yr prove its that allow for a full reset if they faceplant in 2025. Personally, we know they will, so why go that route? Fields played the easier part of the schedule and didn't look at all like an answer, just a wildcat QB with the one or two passes a game on target. Not going to win any playoff games with that.

I'm not sure what drafting two quarterbacks does for you, especially given the many other needs the Steelers have to address.

Have no idea how this works out, at this point I really do not care, the team just looks pathetic in their approach to QB. one thing I just read, and who knows the reality, but still found it interesting. With Pete now in Raider land, the competition for Russ may be real.

He mentioned UDFA, we can always use another Duck Hodges for a laugh or two.

In all seriousness though, as weak as the QB class is their are some interesting picks that could be rated when we pick in the 2nd. I just do not trust our ability to groom a guy, if indeed someone is there and not a reach, like any position you have to take a look and see the potential, few make it, but the draft is just that, potential.

Are you guys having trouble reading? I’ll repeat and see if you can follow along. THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE IN THOSE LAST 6 GAMES THAN WHAT WE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN FROM FIELDS.

I posted those number to show that Wilsons were very Field like during the 6 game losing streak.

    Hope that helps.

By the way, Wilson was spotted 4 wins, Whoopi ****ing doo, he got to 10 wins.

    Yes, I agree with you.

Kinda making fun of the rampant clickbait that is a big part of media these days. Russ says he talked with the Steelers and the media tries to make it sound like they are working on a contract. And of course it draws a lot of people in, including myself at times. Speaking of which, I think Russ would look good with the Raiders.

Wilson did help the offense become a top 10 offense during that 6-1 streak, and he helped Pickens become more involved in the offense.

Personally, I seen enough of Wilson to know he isnt the answer, and he is a year older. If his deep pass isn't working (because teams figured him out by playing 2 deep safties), he doesn't have much going for him. Our lack of run game didn't help in that regard either.

With that said, we aren't in position to draft a franchise QB at pick 21 and this class doesn't look too good. So i say we roll with Fields on a 2 year contract and see what he can do for a full season after playing 6 games and sitting/learning behind Wilson. The green light may come on (ala Baker Mayfield) and we may have something. His legs alone allows him to get first downs when the play breaks down keeping the offense on the field and defense fresh. They need an offense that allows him to get the ball out quick (not these long developing plays) and gets him in a rhythm early. Our offense did not score once on the first drive and that is when we should have our first 15 plays scripted and doing well...which is damning to Arthur Smith's offense. Gruden made note of this in a story I was reading recently but I noticed this all season. We are always starting slow and from behind because of this.

Why was he hired in the first place and by whom? Meyers track record before being hired was mediocre, at best. So yes, he should be gone yesterday but it’s more important who we hire to fix it.

I would feel the same way, but I honestly think they, the front office has to realistically look at every possibility. When you see who is on the FA market the choices are slim, the draft is as well. I think the obvious is who is available, what price, and develop a strategy. Wilson and Fields should be in that conversation simply because they know the system and while not stellar, we did win with both. The same holds true with drafting a QB, you have scouts, do the research and like any other position put your ranking on the guy(s) and where they are projected to go. How many QB's bust out with 1st round picks? The % is likely higher for those drafted later, but there are still success stories, so you do your diligence and like any position draft the BPA with need consideration. Do I think we have the coaches in place to develop them, not really, as with many other positions, can you find a future pro bowl, all pro, SB winning QB in rounds 2-7, not often,,or even rarer than that, but it is still part of the process.

My suggestion for awhile now has been TJ Paganetti from the Eagles
