I have been so critical of Colon over the first few games, that I thought I would come here to eat crow.

Over the past 2 games he has shown me a lot. Hopefully his nastiness resonates to others on the o-line..

to those of you on this message board that disagreed with me about Colon (GB Steel and others)...you were right I was wrong...and I am glad I was wrong.

Well, I have been saying all year that you need to wait until the halfway point before you really know what kind of team you have, hopefully last night is the real us (minus all those freaking drops, looking at you mostly mr wallace).

Let's not go overboard here.... this is the same Bungles team that lost to Cleveland last week. Let's see how the season continues against real competition (say the Giants front 4)

I've been in the wait and see camp about Colon also...and he has improved and gotten better, especially the last couple weeks here. As long as he keeps it up I think he can be a solid guard.

I actually have been on the Colon bandwagon this year....He was a monster both days I went to camp.....While I will never be his biggest fan...I like what he brings to the line....in nastiness alone I feel he helps set the tone. Max, Gilbert, Adams, and Foster are all more "silent storm" Willie is pure RAGE on the field.....Pouncey is more in between....and Decastro has yet to show his colors.....

when it comes to Willie....I don't mind the occasional hold....its the false starts that drive me crazy....especially now....you know the snap count...and you are right next to the ball....hold your water boy!

i wouldnt quit go out on that limb.

special teams was HORRIBLE, except, Brown, Rainy, Butler and Suisham.

Wallace looked lost and like he didnt belong on the field.

Batch, oh Batch, what could have been. he actually looked worse than Wallace trying to make that catch.

the defense. yes the defense. i know they looked better yesterday, but they still arent getting any sacks and they all catch about as well as Wallace. nice INT by Woodley though. old stone hands Taylor has rubbed off on those guys.

I wonder what Willie and Burfect are going to name their love child after that romantic interlude?

I will give him props, but there was times his pass blocking was suspect early in the game.He still has room to improve.

finally the oline is showing some life. hopefully this extra effort that Colon is giving is contageous and the rest of the oline finds a nasty side.

Man it looked like Willie was trying to swallow Burfect whole! :lolol:
But we really need a little more of that NASTY....That is Steeler NASTY :yeehaw: ... The line was blocking mean and Dwyer was running mean. There was a point earlier in the 4th where we should have just kept pounding them the run was working but for some reason we went to the pass and ended up punting..I know Collinsworth aint worth much but he was right when he said thats what the steelers do! They play smash mouth football :clapping: We used to be a physical team. Now even when we can run the ball and brake the other teams will we don't we throw it to Wallace so he can put it on the ground :frustrated:
It's the same with our D....over the last couple years our D has gotten soft. We've lost that swagger that attitude. that we're the Pittsburgh Steelers and we're gonna punch you in the mouth and kick ur ass for 60 mins attitude..

Willie will turn into a pro bowl Guard. Maybe not this year, but within the next 3 years. We just have to give him time. He's only 6 games into playing the position.

That was Colon's best game as a Steeler. I hated all his holding penalties but he made a believer out of me.

I don't apologize for being critical. He was playing badly. But he was freaking awesome on Sunday. Hopefully this was him turning the corner on learning his new position. Best game of Willie's career?

I too have been a Willie Colon critic for quite some time now. Nevertheless, I was beyond impressed with his performance against Cinci- yet I'm not ready to apologize for any past unpleasent comments I've made of Colon just yet. It will certainly take more than one game for me to start eating my share of arguable crow. Last night Colon was a raging bull and I only seen him get beat badly once. If Willie continues to play as he did last night, I will gladly come back to this post to start munching on the bird

I hope you're right. I've always said he seemed better suited for the guard position. Now as long as he can maintain this level of play. :praying:
