Believe me this is not a sign him right now post. I never was a fan of this guy, and I wasn't impressed at all by him as a CB. And it seems the Cardinals feel the same way. Just saw they released him.... And I thought wow that was a short term in AZ. To me the best contribution we ever got from Gay, will be the comp pick we receive for this years draft.

    Just to play devils advocate:

He didn't play too bad as the Nickel corner. It remains to be seen what we do with the draft pick we get for him, but let's say we do not resign Keenan Lewis. Cortez would start and that means Curtis Brown is our Nickel back... Maybe Brown is no good, maybe he is, but if they need a vet who can come in to play nickel maybe that vet is Willie Gay???

That is possible. He was always that player for me that struck a nerve. Idk why. From what I've read and heard about his life, he is a tremendous human being, he gives back and is a genuine good person. But for some reason I never liked his style of football. But as a nickelback he could contribute there.

Actually, Willie was playing really well the first 4-5 games. The whole Cardinals defense was. Anf then, all of a sudden, they went into a tailspin and never recovered. I'm not suggesting Willie is a world beater, but I am surprised the cardinals are letting him go.

Cap casualty. Gay actually played well here his last season, don't know how his performance was in AZ. But yeah, for the most part, this guy gave me fits when he was here.

I'd welcome him back. I think he was a solid nickelback.

Then again, I thought B-Mac was solid too and not sure what Arizona did with him. He was like R.P. McMurphy going into the Oregon State Correctional Facility then getting lobotomized. Never was the same.

    Juicy Fruit.

BMac's body failed him...his was too injury prone. When he came back here he lost all his speed and athleticism.
