Just as example...The Giants won 2 super bowl in 1986 and 1990 and in those 6 playoffs game,Taylor had only 0.5 sacks....When the opposing team have all their eye on one player,some other need to take advantage of it and it was the case for the giants in those years...also Belichick and Parcells were much better defensive mind that what the steelers have right now!

 

Watt is still good, but it seems like he is slowing down a little…second half of last year wasn’t as impressive as the first half.

It doesn’t help that Herbig has been really impressive and looks like Jack Sawyer will be a good one as well.

I hate to say it but if we let him walk, I think we would be alright. The Steelers of the 90s, when they let a lot of free agents walk, probably would have done just that.

He is on the wrong side of 30 now.

I think the best duo the steelers had was Woodley and Harrison at their best....Woodley had 10 sacks in 7 playoffs game in his first 4 years,so he was making the opposing offense paid for their attention on Harrison...I think Woodley had a sack in every playoffs game in those years!

FYI. Adam Schefter was on Pat McAfee show talking about TJ, and Adam said that it cost players about $107 thousand to skip their team's mandatory minicamp. From the CBA.

True but among those players,T.J Watt had by far the worst supporting cast,not only for the other OLB but also for the rest of the defense,like DL,run defense and coaching.This is a reason why the steelers are 1-11 without Watt and this is not just because of our poor offense,the number on defense are ugly too

 

if watt is squawking, we could do what we did with alan fanaca when he was unhappy. pull him into a side office, close the door and make this deal with him.....you play the last year out without making a fuss/at full strength/without being a locker room problem, and we promise not to franchise you next year and you can go make your money with someone else.
remember fanaca then played out his declining years being overpaid by the Jets and Cards.
