Its not only the size of the player that counts, its their aggressive, violent passion for the game that counts more. We have it here. Were bred to be violent aggressive, etc. eastern Europeans no so much, so i dont think they would take to American football like they do basketball. Maybe in a couple generations they will if they are bred like we are. So far, its not the case.

    Also the training.

Most importantly, Joel's argument about superior genetics of Eastern Europeans sounds pretty suspect to me.

They've taken to hockey and rugby, so i don't understand this argument.

Yeah. Genetics doesn’t work like that.

There are times that I would condone "tanking".

When the Steelers ABSOLUTELY had to beat the Browns in the last game of the 2016 regular season. They had nothing to gain and nothing to lose. The Browns IDIOTICALLY were about to beat us and lose the 1st overall pick, but NOOOO, we had to come back and win in OT, handing them Myles Garrett on a freakin platter. I was so pissed. Use your head. They probably would've drafted Trubisky.

From what I heard, playing overseas you don’t always get paid on time. NBA money is ridiculous and it’s guaranteed. They will continue to come here and then go back in the offseason. The money in America is insane for superstar players.

NBA gad its first exhibition in Israel in 1978.

NFL tried and failed with their Euro league about 15 years later.

I think kickers will continue to enter the NFL for obvious reasons but we aren’t going to see Luka or Jokic playing OLB or TE at high rates anytime soon.

Those guys love Soccer and Rugby too much.

Also, basketball and soccer are much easier to play as kids. Trying to get 22 guys together with equipment and technical training to play football is a heavy lift. At most you may see the occasional basketball player make the transition to TE like Antonio Gates or Allie-Cox but these are guys who couldn’t make it in basketball professionally.

No way a gifted basketball player picks football when they can get a guaranteed contract in the NBA and make 10X as much.
