    Well actually, they can be traded. :)

    I can think of some recent 6 and 7th round picks that ended up having some value for the Steelers, though.

    Yeah I know. Just horsing around ;) Forgot that they can be traded now. Is that in effect for this year's draft, or does it kick in for the 2017 draft?

    It's obvious why we kept Nix.

    Will Johnson was a quality all around FB. I commend him for a good career here in Pittsburgh.

    Awe man... wish we could have kept him around, especially when Nix is coming off an inury.

    What happened to the depth on this team? I was feeling good about it, then we let all our FA walk?

    Considering the lack of using a FB anymore, this is not a big loss at all. I do wish him well though.

    I can see why he went. I'd bet he was hoping to drop back into his hybrid role as FB/TE with Miller retiring and only having James/Nix/Spaeth on the roster. Then they signed the Green. :dontknow::dontknow:

    I agree Will is a good player but I'm glad he is gone. Dressing 2 FBs to split 6 snaps between them never made sense to me.

    I recall us running one play at the goal-line when they both lined up, and it looked a really good positional play. Then it stopped being used - presumably because of injuries. However, I tend to agree that two FBs is a bit of a luxury.
