I'm not sure if it matters or not. It's not like he's going to post 4 TDs and 400 yards passing the first game coming back after an injury. There's enough tape over the past 6 years to prove that Ben does not play very well when returning from an injury. So pick your poison. Mediocre Landry Jones or Rusty Ben Roethlisberger who could re-injure his knee or any other body part on any given play vs. the Ravens. Either way... chances of a Steelers victory are slim to none.

Being that this is a meniscus and not a ACL, MCL. From what I read he can't really damage it any further, by playing.
That's not to say that it won't be painful. Ben is an extremely tough.
A 75% Ben, gives us a better shot than Landry. This game is extremely important in toward winning the AFC North.
A two game cushion and a game in hand on the Ravens is at stake.

    Bottomline I think he plays

Going on that logic either way Ben is going to have to knock the rust off so do you let him play maybe lose but knock the rust off or throw Landry out there lose bring Ben back next week and lose again? If he is healthy and ready to go you always go with your starter.

Is he 100%? That's the question. I don't see the Steelers doing much vs. Ravens or Cowboys to be honest... regardless of who is starting at QB. The Ravens seem to have the Steelers number over the past few years and the Cowboys are obviously a better, more-complete team.

I don't see how you can judge the Steelers against any team right now with the amount of injuries they have had. 3 starters in our front 7 are either injured or playing through injury. Our top TE has been out along with a number of WRs missing time along with Bell suspension and Williams being hurt. We have been rotating linemen in like it was an all you can eat buffet. Throw in Ben and we haven't even come close to seeing this team at its full potential. Once they get healthy I wouldn't pick a single team in the league over them. When all the pieces are in place there is no way of stopping this offense. Do you focus on Bell and let Brown, Green, and Coates or Rogers kill. Or do you focus on stopping the pass game and let Bell and Williams run all over you. People are really underestimating what a TE that can go vertical down the middle of the field does. No longer can teams roll coverage over to Brown. You can't leave a LBer trying to cover Green 30 yards down field. Also that will keep the safeties back opening up more running lanes. Let's wait until all the pieces are together before we safe this team is obviously better.

I think you right about the Cowboys, they are more complete. I still think we have a pretty good chance at winning that one if we get healthy. The Ravens have had our number, but even though they were poor last year I think they are much worse this year. I think we win this one. I don't think we can beat them two times this year though.

I like your optimism about Green, but he has not proven anything in Haley's system yet. The Chargers let him go and kept an aging Antonio Gates. Green's stats weren't all that impressive either. It's not like he was putting up Gronkowski/Kelce/Olsen numbers.

When will all of the pieces come together? If the past two years are any indicator... it lasts about 2 games and then everything goes to hell again with injuries. Maybe the Steelers will get lucky and avoid the injury bug? I don't see it happening. Yes, I agree with you... the Steelers, on paper, have an unstoppable offense when they are all healthy. Problem is... the entire offense is never completely healthy. There's always missing pieces either on the O-line or at skill positions.

Oh yeah for sure but you can't say well the team choose this player over that. The Chargers wanted to keep both but couldn't match what the Steelers offered him. The Steelers tried to keep Wallace over Brown. No way were they signing both of them.

If we are healthy and play like the KC game we beat the next 2 soundly. Otherwise 4-5

He isn't going to be 100% till the season is over.
If the Doc clears him to play, he can manage the pain and swelling and coach decides he's good then that's all there is to it.

I was going to take the easy route and give this post an "agree". Up until the last sentence. I have seen to many on any given Sunday games.

Obviously this is a big AFC game and obviously every time we play the Ratbirds it's obviously a tough, physical game. Obviously the O-Line has to step and protect Ben if he plays because if he gets hurt in this one the season is obviously in jeopardy.
But the standard is the standard and no matter who we have at the helm we need to unleash hell.

    Obviously.

**Sorry...I was watching a Mike Tomlin interview before I posted.

I say he plays. It's Ben. Do you think a little meniscus tear is gonna keep him out of a game when he has had a little time to rest it? He lives for this stuff. He's like Rowdy Burns who wouldn't take a day off even if his eyes were hanging out of his head on springs.

You know the Ravens. They are going to go after Ben's weak knee, and if they can hurt him, it is only going to help the Ravens get into the playoffs.

I thought I heard that the Ravens have been having those "player only" meetings this week? Teams that have them usually play pretty inspired ball.
