Roger AKA Ramjet just stated on the news he contacted the Casino and ask if they had any recorded evidence he stated they said no. His face looked like a Redds Apple Ale.

Yes and no. If they had brought the hammer down on him the first time around, it really wouldn't have mattered if they had seen the video or not. Besides, we all knew what was in the video based on what we already saw. It has been clear since day 1 that Ray knocked her out cold. The NFL made a mistake by taking it easy on him and now they're going to pay for it, although I don't think anyone is going to lose their job.

But they didn't bring the hammer down, not until the video came out. They've been getting beat up all day over this, Oberman destroyed Goodell and the higher ups, DESTROYED them, no excuse for seeing it and doing nothing and no excuse for not obtaining that tape.

Stay tuned and you will see him escape from this. He should be nailed but I would be willing to bet a lot of money he won't be.

We'll see, I've gone from "not likely, but hoping" to "cautiously optimistic"

Now you have law enforcement officials saying they sent a copy and a recording of a woman from the NFL offices saying they received the copy and that its awful.

Good ol Rodge may not escape this scandal.

Online petitions are a joke and never go anywhere. Chances are just as many people would have signed this petition a year ago. Goodell isn't well liked, but most commissioners of pro leagues aren't. Gary Bettman is absolutely despised by almost every hockey fan on earth, but owners don't get rid of commissioners too easily, especially when the league is making money.

Goodell may be painted into a corner, but he'll deny, deny, deny. He's not going anywhere

I keep reading that, do people really think the next commissioner won't make money? Put a monkey in office, he'll make as much money, not hard with a product like the NFL.

I don't think that's the goal here. The White House has no say in the matter. I think they just want to get someone on record commenting on it.

I happen to agree, although of course certain executives can make the league more revenue than other executives could. Has Goodell done a good job increasing revenue? If the owners think he has, they'll keep him, regardless of this Ray Rice scandal. Only if it can be proved that Goodell saw the tape will he be fired, and it will be almost impossible to prove. The people around him will protect him

If it comes to an independent investigation and Godell is found quilty, does the court system direct the franchise ownership to collectively take a vote (though if quilty would'nt make sense) or issue a dismissal. I'm trying to get an understanding of the procedure.

What investigation and by who? And why would the courts get involved in a non-criminal matter? Even if it's proved Goodell watched the video, it's not a criminal matter, the courts won't get involved

Interesting. Help me understand here because we don't have anything like this in Canada. So the Senate can investigate anything they want? So they investigate and then what? Do they have authority to hand out some kind of punishment?

I guess I just don't understand how the government can investigate if there was no criminal activity going on. If no laws were broken, what authority do they have to investigate?

I do hope the truth comes out though. I can't believe anyone could watch that video and only give Ray Rice 2 games. It's sickening. How could they sleep at night

The Senate / Congress has had many investigations into sports leagues (The Baseball steroid scandal maybe being the most recent).

While they may not be able to file criminal charges (unless a clear crime happened), they do wield a good bit of power. The NFL has many tax exemptions as well as Anti-trust exemptions given to them by the government (not to mention public funding of stadiums, etc). If congress does not approve of how they run things, they can take them away with a simple vote.

That would be very bad for business for the NFL. So they'll tuck tail and listen.

Independent investigation coming. Former FBI director Robert Mueller to conduct the investigation with Rooney and Mara overseeing it. Report will be 100% public.

I'm a shark. And I smell blood in the water. :D

(edit): Dang it. I didn't realize this was a hire by Goodell, nor Mueller's connections to Goodell at the time of this post. This is a sham. Rooney should recuse himself so as not to have the stench fall on him.
