    Britain tried for some reason?

On a side note, did you know Denmark celebrates the 4th of July?

Love Snickers but put a Milky Way in your freezer and enjoy that frozen treat.

I believe Denmark celebrates the 4th right after Thanksgiving.

If I was intelligent enough to take & download pictures on my phone I could show you my two lovely girls.

One is a Husky Akita mix, almost pure white.

My favorite is a Great Dane Lab mix, 100lbs & could be mistaken for a horse.

Both were rescued from a shelter.

We take in strays and rescue. Right now we have 2 stray dogs and a stray cat. The cat serves no useful purpose.

They do seriously celebrate the 4th of July. It’s a Danish holiday. Germany invaded Denmark. The US chased German back out. Denmark never wants to forget why they aren’t speaking German. They are they only country that paid their war debt to the US.

Younger people being diagnosed and therapeutics have had an impact this is why deaths are down.

To all my Steelers brothers even though we may not agree on everything or anything for that matter, Have a safe and great 4th. Don’t ever forget our forefathers who sacrificed their lives to give us this great free country. Times are tough and the divide is real but at the end of the day we are all Americans. Never be ashamed of that. Mods thank you for allowing us to converse even with different opinions. It’s what makes this board unique and special, at least to me.

happy 4th and god bless you and your family!

I am surprised the mods keep this going but even they must realize there is no Steeler football to talk about.

125-66-1 and you want to fire him:) That tie along with Cowhers (149-90-1) still bothers the hell out of me. Cowhers was the worse. Frigging M. Vick kept hitting 4th and a mile like 3 times. I remember we were screaming at the defense. My brother-in-law walked out of the house and finally came back to see it end in a tie and headed right back out.

Let's face it we all know the National Debt is a joke. They just run the money making presses longer. Us old timers remember being told the money is backed by the gold in Fort Knox. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I see this jag off virus might get us more money. This I like. The first stimulus (2400.00) paid for our driveway extension. (2473.00) Should we get another stimulus I'm looking into some new golf clubs. Actually I hope it happens again. In a summer resort community I know many who are suffering.

I found it really interesting that the financial crash that triggered the great depression in the US also had the unintended consequence of forcing Germany unto its own financial crisis and triggered what would eventually be the start of WW2. The Allies steep reparations they were forcing Germany to repay lead them to borrowing heavily from US banks and when the crash happened they called in the loans which the German economy couldn't repay.

Everytime I turn on the news and hear one delusional politician after another talk about how great things are this scene goes through my head.

Very much so.But I just wanted to be clear why the numbers are down. Young
people have a much better chance of survival than say people 65 and over or people
with compromised immune systems. I doubt that my 86 yr old father could survive a ventilator.

I hope you’re right, but we won’t know for a while. Deaths in the US were way down because infections were coming down. Deaths lag infection by 3-5 weeks, and there’s been a surge in infections. Also, while many of the people that have been infected recently are young, and less vulnerable to poor outcomes, they will spread it to others who are more vulnerable.

Before June, the highest number of hospitalized C19 patients reported by The Texas Department of Health and Human Services was 1,888. Now there are 7,382 people in Texas hospitals with C19. Deaths in Florida had hit an average of 30 per day in mid-June, and have been rising since to around 40 per day on average. Arizona deaths have peaked above earlier levels. Too early to say whether we’ll see a significant surge in deaths, but early indicators are not good. The point is not to say it’s time to panic, but it’s way too soon to be taking a victory lap.

The biggest increases right now are 21-30 followed by 31-40 and 41-50. Seems like elderly are being more careful and their percentages of the total are going down. Also, more tests are being conducted and people are getting medical help quicker. That coupled with positive results from drugs like remdesivir are helping. Those seem to be the biggest reasons for deaths declining while number of cases increases.

That said, I have some serious doubts about the accuracy of the tests and the reporting. We still hear crap like the guy who was scheduled to get tested but then wasn't able to make it. Then gets notified a day later that he was positive. Also reading about a group of nurses who sent in the swabs for testing that were completely unused and untouched and all came back positive. Read an article yesterday claiming a 47% false positive rate.

I'm not saying this is a figment of our imaginations. But how in the f#$k does a country with only 4% of the earth's population have 25% of the global cases and deaths?

The arrogance of living in America where no one is going to tell us what to do. I mean just look at some of the early posts in this thread. When the first cases started to appear and the shelter in places orders started you had reasonably intelligent people just uttering some of the dumbest things. Please wear a mask, maintain social distance and stay home. Nope im an American im free to do whatever I want, not going to be afraid to live my life and so on. People will do stupid things because of where we live.

Growing up in North Dakota where the winters are some of the harshest and coldest in the country and yet can't tell you how many times I saw teens and young adults getting sick or frost bite because in 20 below weather with -50 wind chill the wont wear hats, gloves, and thick coats. Just arrogant youth, we can take it.

This has been well debunked. It’s showing up on social media, posted by conspiracy theorists - none of whom have any connection to the medical community. It’s just something that they “heard” from someone else. You do know that 5G towers are the REAL cause for C19 deaths, right? It’s on social media, so it must be true.
