Florida hit 15% infection rate.

I think I will stay in for awhile other than work. Too hot for the woods here & the beach has no trees to hide from the sun.

I'll tell you what, the media makes it hard to take them seriously and have for a while. They have their marching orders just like the docs and scientists that are told what to say... Purely just my opinion of course and I truly believe WHILE MAINTAINING A TRUE RESPECT FOR ANY VIRUS THAT AFFECTS FOLKS DIFFERENTLY... That this is a **** show. All of it, the shutting down of most things deemed NOT corporate and these bull**** riots. Yes some people are getting sick but at the end of the day,we are not being told the friggin truth of an of it... The recoveries, treatments and the fact that the numbers of hospitalizations in places down in the south and here in California are greatly being inflated due to transporting in of folks south of the border.

I'm just going to throw this out there. If we lose Coach Cowher I might go into the fetal position for several weeks and a deep depression after that. Pretty sure I could watch all of House and Bones during it too in under 3 weeks.

Hang in there Bill, I'll mention you to the man upstairs i still have a little pull yet.

He and his wife are recovered just the like the majority of folks... Death rates have PLUMMETED almost like in a straight line down in regards to all the graphics. No offense to the fallen but it's true.

I must have missed it then. I was seeing mention of it on Twitter today in articles on the Athletic.

I live in a remote rural area and I own a bunch of acres. Get outside is what I do every day. What I miss is being able to go out every week or so and have a burger and a beer somewhere. Somehow, as much as I’m not a people person, every once in a while I want someone else to make dinner and do the dishes. I’ve tried this twice since the rules relaxed and I won’t do it again for a while because people think relaxed rules are no rules.

Part of this is because where I live is not a well educated population. If I went to suburbia, I suspect it would be fine. But, I don’t particularly like people. So my dogs and I go hiking and I have a beer and make my own burger.

My wife has anxiety issues and once after her day at work was horrible she asked me how I would feel if I walked into a lunch room and have everybody ignore me? Told sounds like a perfect lunch to me, no forced polite conversations with people I barely tolerate. She tells her customers and coworkers that the pandemic has been a breeze for me since I get to avoid people and interactions. She's not wrong, I mean besides the inconvenience of masks and stores being closed I am totally ok with zero interactions beyond my kids.

Be careful what you say on here. If you don’t believe this is the Black Plague you will be ridiculed and attacked. Guess it’s no different than anywhere else in society these days for that matter when people have a different opinion. Part of why this country is literally going to **** in front of our very eyes. Surprised 4th of July hasn’t been canceled yet.....

In 1967-69 we had the Hong Kong flu, we have had SARS, etc. etc., people died most survived. We never did what we are doing now. Eventually the human body built up an immunity and it went away. There was never a cure found.

Wearing a mask helps and that's great but at what point do we go back to the true normal???? We can't build an immunity to it if not exposed. How will we know covid is all gone? Seems to me there won't be any sports or the normal we were use to for years to come.???????????????

I admit I'm on the other side of the coin on this issue. I've always heard the needs of many far out weigh the needs of a few but now it seems the other way around.

My apologies if I offended anybody on the board. I'm a huge evolutionist and have always thought the human race over values itself and has a ISOE. (inappropriate sense of entitlement)

I think you make a good argument steel machine. The shutdown baffles me still. What is more perplexing is most of the globe went to extreme measures also. I do believe in taking precautions such as mask wearing & sanitation to help get a grip on the outbreaks.

Set aside influenza, because its' a totally different type of virus, and we've all been exposed to many variations over the years which helps a lot with at least semi-herd immunity. SARS and MERS are the only two known human respiratory coronaviruses other than the 4 coronaviruses that cause the common cold. There have been a grand total of 8,100 cases of SARS in the world - ever. There have been a grand total of less than 2,500 cases of MERS in the world - ever. There have been nearly as many confirmed cases of C-19 in a single day in Florida than combined confirmed SARS and MERS cases in the history of the world (fortunately C-19 is much less deadly than the other two). Neither SARS not MERS were highly contagious, but C-19 is. Humanity never built up immunity to SARS and MERS. There was just a very tiny number of people exposed. That's a big reason why there are so few vaccine efforts for SARS and MERS. A disease that infects very few people even with almost no mitigation isn't going to get a lot of attention from anyone putting their money into research. C-19 has a MASSIVE amount of public and private funding being poured into it because it's so transmissible, and because it has such a profound effect on public health and the economy. More top-tier scientists are focused on this disease than any infectious disease in history, and they will find viable vaccines and better, and better treatments. There are a ton of treatments and vaccine candidates that are already showing promise. In my view FWIW we'll be back to full normal within a year, but I'd be pleasantly surprised if it's soon enough to have a full NFL season this year. Some things just take time.
