Why wait for it to be a requirement when you know full well it actually helps?

I think at this point it’s pretty clear it’s not just going to die off. The federal government is sticking their heads in the sand and pretending it will go away on its own. It will be up to all 50 governors to pull their heads out of their asses and follow the science no matter the political image

Is this your stand on all things required/not required by law? I can think of a lot of things not required by law that I do anyway, in the best interest of myself and others.

Is verbal abuse/shame commonplace where you live? I see people not wearing masks (5-10% of people in my travels) and I've never heard anyone say a word to them.

Not many really wear masks in my area. I mostly see the complaining/ shaming online (Facebook, etc)

Please read thoroughly before posting stuff like this. They’ve identified another strain of h1n1 that could potentially be transmitted to humans. it hasn’t yet

I'm not trying to stir anybody up here. I've read Glenn's posts for several years now and he seems quite reasonable, that's why I was questioning him.
I know your comment was a joke, btw.

I'll step back in. I own a restaurant (ny steelerfan knows). We haven't even opened inside. It helps that we have a huge deck with a canopy that holds around 35 people, even after social distancing of 8' between tables. Everyone, even the MAGA crowd, wears masks whenever they are not seated at their tables. All employees wear masks and gloves, including me in a kitchen that is usually between 110-120 degrees. One family has told us that our place is the only place they wear masks, out of respect for us.
We've had one person in four weeks who wouldn't wear a mask. He got kicked out. End of discussion. If you get sick, you get sick. If I get sick, I close my business for two weeks, 10 people lose their jobs, and most likely I go out of business.
So stick up for your freedumb. Tell me its not serious, and that (whatever percentage you make up above 99%) of people will recover/have no symptoms, that only old people die. I don't care. If I test positive, if the woman whom I love tests positive, we lose our business. So your right to not wear a mask ends at the edge of my property.

Thanks man. The mask thing makes me mad, we could get back to pretty close to normal if people would just wear them. I think they will become mandatory soon enough, as more and more states get hammered by it and officials realize they can’t ignore this away.

Yeah, and one of the silly complaints is you can’t breath and harming yourself.

I dial this up to shoot that silly notion down...

Blast- those of us in NY know. Not sure where you are, but all of us were affected by what happened in NYC and it's surroundings. Near Binghamton, 99% of non-bars are following the recommendations 100%. Bars are whats going to kill us.

You probably have a better chance of being killed by a stray bullet there than this common overblown "virus".

Country is headed for another shut down and you call it overblown.

Not sure what the quotes around virus is for, please don’t tell me you think it’s a hoax.

How do you explain the tens of thousands of otherwise healthy people dropping dead in a matter of weeks? Apparently this "virus" hasn't hit anyone close to you.

Glenn the first mistake was going on Facebook or anything Social Media for that matter. That disease is almost as bad as this virus.
