WildCard/A Raider Defeat Is A Must.

If the Steelers still hope to have dreams of a legitimate shot at Wildcard berth, they absolutely need a Conference "W" against the Raiders.

 

And not just against the Raiders. At this point, we have to ask, is this an 8-8 season or will there be more?

 

I hope we win out or lose out . No need to finish 8-8 and not get in the playoffs or get a high draft pick . I know some don't like the ideal of tanking ,but it has it's benefits.

 

Good one . Just play with Jones instead of Ben and play the young guys and rest your studs ....If and when we are eliminated there is no need to play your best players .. Of course you still try to win , but if you don't really no big deal...Just ask yourself would you rather have 8-8 season and the 20th. pick or a 5-11 season and the 3rd. pick ?

I would take the 3rd. pick we could trade back and reload the D in a hurry....

 

It amazes me that you guys think the season is over.

The whole entire AFC still has a shot.

 

Not to mention that Big Ben was limited/injured/missed 6 out of 8 games.

4-4 shows some pretty strong adversity when you think about everything that has happened thus far this year.

Very true. However, after a critical Division loss against the Bengals last week , I just don't see us losing this (Conference) game and still managing a Wildcard Berth at seasons end.

WE MUST BEAT THE RAIDERS and then we virtually control our own destiny from there.

 

We have enough weapons at our disposal along with playing at home tomorrow to give us the edge. Yet i have this gut feeling it's going to be a lot like watching scrambled porn at a motel.

 

Where do people come up with this doomsday crap. Yes we need this game to have a legitimate shot at a wild card. No way we can take the AFC north . We can however make a decent run and we all know its been done before.. Win the freaking SB without home field advantage. Sweep baby sweep

 

I'd rather try and win every game possible even if that means finishing 8-8. Any coach that would deliberately play back up players with the hopes of losing just so he can get better draft picks is a worthless cheat IMO. I'm pretty sure that the league would not think this is a great idea either.
I understand (although I think it's wrong since people pay good money to see the star players.)resting players when you've locked up a playoff berth and can't advance any further in the seeding.

 

I don't call it cheating to build your young players and protect your money players ....If you can't make the playoffs it's smart Coaching to see what you have as depth to prepare for the draft and put a better and stronger Team on the field the next season.....

Why risk injury with no way to really win ? Winning is more than one game....
